Hurricanes v Chiefs

  • What a game this will be.
Some major injuries for both teams in that Coles is out and Cane is unknown at this stage.
Stoked it is on Saturday night.
I think this may be a flight too far for the Chiefs but I expect it to be tight.

  • What a game this will be.

I love watching the chiefs play, but for the sake of the players i hope the Canes win and have the opporutnity to ream the Lions or Landers the week after.  What a redemption story that would be, after the start they had.

Also, in sane universes, the Chiefs can't win the comp without the Landers getting up over there.  Would be delighted if that happened, mind.

Next year I look forward to the Blues contesting at this end of the season!

  • If Cane is out then I would say that would be one nail in the coffin. His absence is bigger than Coles' since Waikato are already light on loose forwards.

dont worry, Sanzar will allow them to replace him with a lock that played loosie at school 😉

  • Well let's all hope Cane comes out okay and that Tamanivalu and Leitch both return.

I'm hoping so! And if so, I reckon we'll win, travel to SA, and lose 😞

if the chiefs have to win then lose, at least bloody well lose in Dunedin!

I guess it depends if the Chiefs are allowed to administer their own testing.  "How many of the three fingers I'm holding up can you see?"  :wacko3:

  • Too bad this game is played before the Lions vs Highlanders fixture... I want the Chiefs to win, but I don't want them having to travel back to SA again. I so hope the Landers fuck the Lions up!

    We've already mastered that.

  • I thought I'd just leave this here.

  • Cane and Tamanivalu are fit to play:

Doesn't matter. The Canes have Ardie "hip hop loving, 6'2 plus, will be an AB great, should get an AB start" Savea

  • Cane is Savea's bitch!!!   :mocking:

Before you whinging mofos have a moan it's a joke!!!

P.s. Matt Todd will never be an All Black again!!

Now that ain't a joke!!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!

  • 10 exclamations in one post, a new record even for you C4L

  • Good to have you back Dismal Pillock

  • Cane and Tamanivalu are fit to play:, but I hope that Horrell gets picked for the bench and that if Seta is not playing well he comes on early doors.I rate Horrell as a super rugby standard centre. He is solid. I think last time he was discussed he was simply being overlooked as opposed to being injured.

  • Big news that Cane is playing.
I Could go either way on Seta. He is a legit line breaking player. But he also has unreliable hands and can make crucial turnovers. This may be a candidate for
the strangest post of the day, but I hope that Horrell gets picked for the bench and that if Seta is not playing well he comes on early doors.

The last time he was discussed was last week, when the Chiefs had two wingers on the bench and Horrell was specifically listed as unavailable for selection. What's up with the conspiracy theories over the Chiefs Cantab* midfielder?

    • Safe white guy.

A quick google to last week's lineup says he had a concussion.Would be nice to have him back this week.

  • Coles has been bracketed to start, Jules still on the bench.

  • James Marshall, Cory Jane, Matt Proctor, Willis Halaholo, Jason Woodward, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara (vc), Victor Vito, Ardie Savea, Brad Shields, Michael Fatialofa, Vaea Fifita, Ben May, Dane Coles (c)/Ricky Riccitelli, Loni Uhila. Reserves: Ricky Riccitelli/Leni Apisai, Chris Eves, Mike Kainga, Mark Abbott, Callum Gibbins, Jamison Gibson Park, Vince Aso, Julian Savea.

  • Apaprt from having an awesome name, I know little about Ricky Riccitelli.

was thinking the exact same thing!

  • Going by his name, if you want to know you should ask the man himself....

  • He was born in SA I think I heard on the news. He's got a very "front-rower" type physique.

  • He plays for HB (not sure where we poached him from) and is NZ U20s.

  • This info on Wikipedia is correct, as far as I know: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricky_Riccitelli

  • with a name like that, i expect him to look like this

  • If I hear the name Ricky, I immediately go to Ricky Bobby!

  • nah, Ricky Ricciteli sounds like a stereotypical italian american from a movie to me.

"Hey, Ricky Riccitelli! Fuggedabowdit, you're faaamily.''

  • Good to see Leitch back.  TKB at halfback.

Plenty of match-ups to look forward to.

  • Weak looking Chiefs team!!! Hurricanes by 13+!!!!! Savea is gonna smash Cane back into the dark ages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just so the Horrell fans don't get all upset, not considered for selection:
Nepo Laulala, Mitchell Karpik, Pauliasi Manu, Sam Henwood, Johan Bardoul, Glen Fisiiahi, Maama Vaipulu, Michael Allardice, James Tucker, Charlie Ngatai, Andrew Horrell, Stephen Donald, Augustine Pulu (All Blacks Sevens).

  • I don't understand the chopping and changing of the halfbacks.

    Amazing bench!

Oh and I am really liking Sam McNicholl. Only first noticed him against Wales where he played a blinder and he keeps getting stronger in the game. Good decision maker.

Tactics.  TKB will provide better defence around the fringes of the ruck, where the Canes will look to use their runners.
