  • Where is Van Rensburg the 12? He needs to be in the squad ASAP.

  • de Jongh, Kriel, de Allende and Mapoe. What's Kriel and JdJs form like?

  • No le Roux or Pietersen.  A lot of European-based players have been selected.

  • Where is Van Rensburg the 12? He needs to be in the squad ASAP.

Yeah I'm a bit relieved that monster isn't in their team but he certainly should be. He's been bloody hard to tackle this last month

  • No le Roux or Pietersen. A lot of European-based players have been selected.Neither has been playing well, so that might be a reflection of form. They're also going OS.I'm guessing Van Rensberg lost on to de Jongh based on melanin content.

  • Where is Van Rensburg the 12? He needs to be in the squad ASAP.

Crazy leaving him out. The guy is a real handful.

  • De Allende is also a real handful,, in the same position(though not in good form this year) and has the advantage as being classified as colored.

  • A lot of European-based players have been selected.

Playing the European game does not prepare you for test rugby down south.  Very few players can come down and have an immediate impact - even those who do step up take their time about it.

Selecting from outside the country is a band aid, that comes back to haunt you and weakens local rugby.

  • Without SBW, our midfield is arguably the weakest in the Championship now bar Argentina. Can't think of an obvious (2nd five) replacement for him either.

  • Van Rensburg isn't capped yet I don't think.

If SA don't want him, I'll take him...

  • Theres a guy in France who is a handy 12....don't wanna open that can o' worms!

  • Theres a guy in France who is a handy 12....don't wanna open that can o' worms!

Could we put out an SOS?

  • you mean he could sign with North Otago for a few months, play a game and get an AB jersey...?

  • I think our midfield is going to be better than Australia's for sure. It may not be yet but I think our players have more talent.

  • shit, i would have picked van rensburg no doubt at all.

don't want to say it's a quota thing though, as south african selections have always left me confused - eg smit, matfield etc well past their best.

It reminds me of when De Allende was on fire and they were picking Jan Serfontein on all the time.

it's what? who are the great Australian pair we need to watch out for?

we've also been helped out by the saffas not picking their best 12.

With the help of Google translate, I understand from the Pumas website that debutant Marcos Kremer played with their U20s team in Manchester.
They will take a squad of 26 players to South Africa and 28 players to Australia and New Zealand.
It's the first time that every player in the squad has played Super Rugby (32 players for the Jaguares and Cubelli for the Brumbies).

By the way, I read the comments on the Argentinian Rugby Union (UAR)'s Facebook page and many Argentinian fans are quite angry about playing a home game in London.

  • Without SBW, our midfield is arguably the weakest in the Championship now bar Argentina. Can't think of an obvious (2nd five) replacement for him either.

I'd bet on Crotty and Fekitoa but I'd like to see Moala there or there abouts after his impressive cameo vs Wales

  • Where is Van Rensburg the 12? He needs to be in the squad ASAP.

Not good enough yet according to AC, at least he will be available to smack some bitches in the CC.

  • PS. Boks to lose against the Argies in Nelspruit and Rohan to be called up and win the return game.

  • Interesting to note that Lions really got going in second half of Supers when Rohan started rather than riding pine. The Jantjes combination on hard tracks was outstanding. FSB!

  • it's what? who are the great Australian pair we need to watch out for?

You know mariner, that pair that sliced and diced England up the middle of the park and stopped any ball carrier in their tracks....
Kurindrani has been extremely out of form this season for both Brumbies and Wallabies. Toomua who I rate has had injury concerns so was unavailable for the start of the England series. That young Qlder did okay for a debutante but they don't yet know if he is a 12 or 13 or should play him on the wing.
As for us, I'd give Fekitoa another chance if he is fully fit, but I like Crotty at 12 and Moala at 13.

  • Kuridrani is a myth. He was good for one season, a couple of years ago. For a big unit you can count his linebreaks in a year on the fingers of a careless piranha fisherman. He's not even a great line bender.

Toomua is pretty good, but has stalled while he's been injured. And they'll rissole him for Giteau anyway. No wonder he is fucking off overseas.

did he cop an injury that just hasn't come right or something? because he was really bloody good that one year, and has been very ordinary since.

  • Johan Goosen at fullback?????

  • i still can't believe they didn't pick van rensburg, best 12 in the comp and an established combination with the 10 and 13 selected. farkin dummies.

    Skin tone problem I suspect.

  • Looks like Argentina are about to beat South Africa.

  • I say that and Goosen goes in to score.

  • Argentina just completely shat the bed.

  • pity

  • As expected. Tweet from the All Blacks account on twitter:

  • Funny reading some of the worries some had about our midfield heading into the RC. Seems to be going okay so far.
