Warriors deserved victors. Closer than it should have been in the end.
-
Is this the thread for Warriors games? Maybe we should give the Warriors honorary rugby status and put them in the Rugby Matches sub forum.
Warriors sawn off with a dreadful forward pass call and a comfortable lead is looking precarious just before half time.
Is there no interest in the Warriors these days? Something is seriously wrong if an anti league man like myself is doing the first post at half time.

Roigard and Fakatava seem like our best two halfbacks at the moment. I haven't really been following it closely this year. Is that accurate? Anyone else in the picture? Christie looked barely OK tonight.

Such a stupid rule you can jump from out of the field of play, and take ball back in
The plane of touch must be the most confusing area of law in the game. So easy to simplify IMO.
They should just copy the cricket law.
Ball is out if it touches the ground or something touching the ground over the sideline, or it touches a player that started from outside the field of play.
Simple, easy and done.
I think for consistency they'd have to address the ability of a player out of the field of play to score a try too.
I think the point of that particular law is that the moment the ball is touched it is simultaneously a try and in touch, so it is defendable in principle.
I refereed for 13 odd years and never struck it once. I don't think it is big on the list of priorities.

Crusaders must score here or its done

At the Blues last throw both feet were entirely in play. Why would you risk that? given you only need to be on the line.
-
Brumbies score but I am not convinced about turning down a gimme 3 at this stage in the game.

Did halfback have the ball when he was taken out at the back of the ruck?
I had another look. It was fine. Good play from the Highlanders.

Grounding is fine

With the cricket season over I am looking forward to the first game of Super Rugby.
How has preseason form been for both these teams?
-
I think we don't have enough runs. Wickets fall when the ball is relatively new. We don't have enough runs to have a decent crack with the second new ball - if we get there at all.
If we bowl well we can win but I have a sinking feeling.
-
One more before stumps please.

I don't know why the TMO is continuing to review these clean catches.
Great stuff from Henry and it is about time Southee did something of use.

Dropped catches are costing us. Ugh.
Fortunately it didn't on this occasion.
Point still stands.

These two are bowling well. Only one to show for it though. Good to see Smith burn a review.
-
This is a bit disappointing really. We are going to be 50-60 short. Nobody has gone on to get the big score we needed.
