    • RE: 2020 Rugby Championship in Oz

@Stargazer said in 2020 Rugby Championship in Oz:

South African Rugby CEO, Jurie Roux, stated, "SANZAAR and Rugby Australia have bent over backwards to make the tournament happen and it would have been unfair on them and their partners and state government to delay a decision any longer. This is a hugely disappointing outcome for supporters and commercial partners but the on-going impacts of the pandemic in multiple dispensations mean we are unable to deliver a Springbok team without seriously compromising player welfare, apart from other logistical challenges.”

      What a cocksucker.

It's amazing how your rotation options are in many positions better than your starters IMO. Akira ffs. Notable exception being TJ - the most overrated yappy little flog to ever grace a rugby field.

    • RE: All Blacks Tests 2020

@Machpants Aside from the disappointment of not being able to actually attend, this isn't a terrible outcome for NZ. Any Covid related risk is born by NSW but NZRU still get a slice of the gate receipts.

    • RE: The 'How is Fozzie going?' thread

@chimoaus Raelene knew two years in advance of the RWC that Cheika was fucking pants. She just couldn't get rid of him because a) no money to pay out contract and b) no decent alternatives off contract. That's why Johnson was brought in as DoR - to try and reign Cheika in as much as possible.

Rennie was lined up well in advance. Seems her succession planning was just a bit ahead of youse guys.

      I really rated Raelene...

    • RE: Wallabies v Argentina

Id say that was the most brainless half of rugby ive ever seen but... im a Wallabies fan.

Hooper is the worst fucking captain. We were completely dominant in the first 30 minutes and came away with 0 points until he finally gave in and took the 3 at the 35th. What. A. Moron.

    • RE: 2020 Rugby Championship in Oz

I thought all four unions had agreed. Saffas had made that agreement conditional. That's why when NZRU wanted to make it five weeks they objected.

The reasons not to come make some sense, even if i do think they are basically just 'shit we'll be underdone and lose Number 1'. Waiting till now to say so is negligent.

NZRU and RA need to put the knives away and secure the future of SR and TRC asap. Getting Japan involved in the TRC is a no fucken brainer.

@chimoaus it isnt important to have a tall winger - Cheslin Kolbe was the form right winger of the RWC and hes three feet tall.

    • RE: Aussie Rugby

@antipodean So the Force must be competitive but they must only be competitive with locally sourced players?

They are 31 and 26 year old internationals, by the way.

It's actually pretty hard to gauge what NZ actually want. is it competitive teams, or locally sourced talent, or is it new markets, or Pacifika team based no-where near any of it's 'locally sourced players'? flopping around like a dead fish.

    • RE: SR Australia Round 2: Brumbies v Waratahs

@gunner There are none. We produce a bunch but they all end up elsewhere. LSL was from Sydney, Rodda was from NSW, etc. Some of the up and coming locks in the other teams are from NSW too. Pretty much all top-line Wallaby locks are in Europe or Japan (Arnolds, Rodda, Skelton, Philip, Coleman list goes on forever), so they aren't available.

Waratah's from Gibson on have aggressively expelled all available talent.

@No-Quarter 'us smacking a severely weakened Argentina side should be pretty meaningless'.

What are you talking about? if Arg win this they have one hand on the trophy. If NZ win this with a bonus point then they take the trophy.

Why would either team take it lightly?

I swear some AB fans smoke crack for a living.
