Yeah the NZ boutique pilsners are all very dissapointing - just far to bitter, oddly enough the speights tap pilsner is ok but that's not saying much.

A pity really as a nice pilsner is a a good a drop as any.

Saw Avatar in 3-D last night, excellent movie but you would really have to see it in 3D to appreciate it e.g. some of the movie would be lost in translation with-out the 3D effects.

Thought it was excellent, seamless integration of real and CGI, entertaining storyline and visually stunning - a little blunt in it's delivery though...

Ironical in that this movie somewhat appeared to represent what happened between the American's and the American Indian's, can't help but feel it's a little sanctimonious... -
As an interesting aside in history the army was planning a coup in Germany to get Hitler out of power but had the stuffing knocked out of it by Chamberlin waving his white piece of paper and Germany politically being able to take over the rhineland, Hungary, Austria and Czechoslovakia with-out firing a shot well made Hitler look like a genius instead of a raving mad-man - alas they and the world didn't find that out till much later...

Regardless Hilter never did have universal approval with the German army but rather had just enough friends, connections and more importantly power to hold onto it... -
Saw Zombieland - a marvellous piece of work, doesn't engross itself in the what you already know is going to be wildy ridicolous and incredibly far-fetched "how we all became zombies in the first place" and instead just tells a man's story from a quite unique angle...

So good I'm even considering going to the movies to watch it as I saw this one on a DVD download eusa_whistle -
Just watched Final destination in 3-D, utterly appaling movie - terrible, absolutely terrible. 3-D was very cool though, my personal advice if you want to watch a 3-D film save your $$ for a Christmas Carol - who's 3-D trailer was probably the highlight of going to see final destination...

Hi CJ - did you watch at at the movies or on DVD (or a pireted version off the internet <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> ) just that of the not so glowing reviews I've heard about D9 have been from people that hadn't seen it on the big screen, just wondering if something of the effect of the movie gets lost in translation??

Saw the latest Harry Potter movie, alas with my lack of research I thought it was the last installment in the series and thougt. "Well I might as well go see the last one at the movies". Only of course to discover that it wasn't, made up for my some poor sap blubbering away in the cinema when dumbledorph died and I recalled the parody in the Simpson's when Homer is reading the book to Lisa and changes then ending when poor greystache dies - then spends the next night in Moe's sobbing into his beer cying out "Greystache, oh greystache!!" Spent the next 15 minutes furiously trying not to bray like a donkey with laughter - worth the price of admission alone!!

Movie was ok as well...

Saw Ingolorious Basterds lat night, good except for the last 20 minutes where it really just got a bit silly - still what does one expect from Tanintino...

Loved that Colnel Landers character - all class "Mind if I smoke my pipe as well??" Outstanding!!! -
District 9 is a brilliant movie, very interesting at the start and emotionally gripping towrds the end - quite magnificant stuff really. Loved the documentary style methodology (instead of having some twit narrate and explain the whole thing to you at the beginning of the movie)...

Highly reccomend it xzxgood -
Saw 21 not that long ago - one about a math's whizz who via his college professor earn's stacks of cash counting cards at blackjack - quite interesting...

Not a bad movie, strange plot, interesting characters. Brad Pitt makes the movie playing this gym geek & is absolutely hilarious. The final scene is pretty funny too. Certainly not a comedy all the way through though.

6/10.[/quote]

Interesting story but hardly funny at all, I barely recall laughing - bit of a let down when you rent out a "comedy" to watch on a rainy day. Would reccomend only there wasn't something else exciting to do, like knitting or folding clothes... -
Kingdom of the crystal skull would be the biggest festering pile of dog-s*it I've ever seen on the big screen. I mean alien's?? Where have they gone to? Space??". "No the space between the space". Utterly ridiculous...

Watched "Where in the world is osama bin laden" by the same guy that did "Supersize me". Complete and utter waste of time - thankfully of a borrowed DVD so didn't spend a cent on it otherwise I'd feel robbed!!
