Funnily enough I feel like this is my best tipping performance this season. I feel like I have improvement in me and to be honest I cannot see myself being in a worse position this season.
That being said, I'll conduct my review today, identify my work-ons. A week is a long time in tipping and I feel I will be much better this week.

@gunner well we know Waikato don't do social media engagement, so it wouldn't be them posting
-
@winger Gatland was horiffic, 2 kicks that led directly to tries to the Highlanders and a dropped ball in the 22 that lead to another try.
Hopefully Trask is fit again soon or they need to move McKenzie to the 10 jersey.

I think part of the issue is the massive debt the WRU still has which dates back to the Super Rugby contracting switch. This limits the ability to contract players thus it becomes a recruitment and retention problem. It also limits the investments the WRU can make in other areas
I am not sure Jono Gibbes is a poor coach....he's probably not working with the best cattle.
Both Roger Randle and Nathan White have coached on the club scene....so there seems to be a pathway there.
There has to be something wrong there though. This is now getting really embarrassing. I wish I knew how to fix it.
I couldn't watch the second half last night.

@kiwimurph I believe its who won the round robin game....and if that doesn't separate the two teams (e.g. they drew in round robin) then points differential
-
I am a Waikato supporter but the lack of any real information is so frustrating, they don't share their training squads or information around pre-season games. Its a real closed shop. Then, with little connection with the fans, they wonder why they struggle to get bums on seats come competition time.
-
@Chris yes, Ben has retired
-
@DrivingMaul If everything goes to form Waikato won't even release their team list for this match....their communication is atrocious
-
@Bovidae Waikato's communication with its fans is terrible in general when you stack it up against other Unions. They must have taken PR lessons from the Kremlin
-
@Kirwan they had me at el Head Coach...makes him sound like an underworld figure
-
It'd be good if we also got details of guys contracted in the WTG's and injury//temporary replacements....

@chris bet he told you what high school he went to as well.
He is pretty passionate about Wellington Rugby to be honest.and yes he did Wesley College.
he didnt go to wesley
St Peters wasnt he?
yep
He probably played Wesley a few times

@Yeetyaah Waikato must have the worst social media persence/interaction with its fans of any PU in the country. Their lack of sharing anything relevent never ceases to amaze me. Its almost like they take pride in it. Old school arrogance aprings ot mind.

@Canes4life He's a 12 that can play 10. A big frame on him, good footwork. can kick. He played for St John's College in the CNI comp, made the barbarians team from memory. A good pick up.
-
Interesting tactic, Ross, Kapeli and Robertson all originally played for Waikato....maybe Clayton is thinking they will bring extra motivation to perform? Also a 6/2 bench for BOP...maybe he's expecting a forward battle.
-
Manihera is not currently contracted to Waikato but may come back after the conclusion of the US season. He may still be contracted by Waikato.

I remember the 93 win over Auckland. At that time i could only ever remember Canterbury and Auckland holding the Shield and it was hard to see anyone beating Auckland to win the Shield. Still one of my absolute favourite days as a Waikato fan. That win was bigger than big. I recall the parades, getting the see the Shield up close. It was pretty cool.

@Bovidae McWhannell was still in a moon boot at the club final (he broke his leg during the club season and needed surgery) I am not sure if he will return during the M10 Cup Season. Not sure if Seu's injury was Super Rugby ending or season ending.
I have heard Waikato have signed a lock out of Canterbury...
