Fuck me - they've got one at Arthurs Pass!

    Right!?

And yeah - that map is just the "unaffiliated courts".
Just looking at central north island... I'm gonna go out on a limb, and suggest that the population of Whakamaru and Mangakino combined - probably don't need a squash club.
Reporoa - doesn't really need a squash club, but it certainly doesn't need one just up the road at Waikite Valley also.

What I really want - is to con somebody into paying me for doing this.
Make a TV programme - based on visiting tiny NZ towns/names-on-a-map, meeting the locals, etc.

Would make it a shit-ton easier to organise actually getting into the courts, which are probably typically a "key is behind the bar at the local" type places I get paid for riding a motorbike around all the roads in NZ where you wouldn't otherwise find an excuse to check out get paid for playing some pretty fucking average squash (I don't really know the rules well, we've made up our own rules where it's pretty much a full-contact sport) show-case tiny towns, quirky locals, beautiful remote parts of the country

Effectively - yes - just another travel show, with a super-flimsy gimmick premise.

This is before or after your film review tv show, right?

I think it should be an all in one, a combo of that Ewen McGregor travel show and a review show.

He could also do a weekly read of the Grumpy Old Man thread as a bonus section.

    Lets Kickstarter this bitch.

@mn5 Sorry fellas got distracted, but not sure why I cranky etc, I just wonder why I get shit because I asked if anyone knew of the ABs having a harder test schedule. Instead of answering I get called a Fozzie supporter (which I will be while he coaches ABs, because I an AB supposter) . So I tkae it noone really know of a heavier test schedule?

One should never get cranky on the fern, it’s all fun and bullshit on here anyway.

I agree wholeheartedly mate, I never take it too seriously, hell it's a forum on the Net!

Sotutu is excellent in lineouts, and has superb passing skills.

The problem has been that Sotutu sometimes doesn't pass when he should (for example, ignoring BB right before HT vs Fiji). Jacobson has always been used in the lineout in any team he has played for.

We should just be happy that we have some depth in the loose forwards, and there are options.

Agree , I think Ardie is miles better than Sotutu when it comes to passing/ decision making from the base of the scrum.

    1- Grimm
    2- Hellboy
    3- Drax the Destroyer
    4- Thor
    5- Plastic Man
    6- Incredible Hulk
    7- The Invisible Man
    8- Wolverine
    9- The Wasp
    10- Dr Strange
    11- Superman
    12- Batman
    13- Robin
    14- The Flash
    15- Black Panther

I'd have the Blob in there somewhere, maybe 1?
Dr. Strange at 10? I don't think his onfield communication would be ideal and surely Robin is more a 12 than 13. I do like Hellboy at 12.

It’s a package deal the midfield and you can’t have Robin named before Batman….

Plus Robin is quicker than Batman, so an advantage at centre.

Batman is heavier and stronger. I think we will have to agree to disagree (Robin's a little light for me in the midfield and his tight clothing is a wedgie waiting to be opportunized by the opposition).

@frye i think there are a lot of factorsstill in the Crusaders favour that slightly skew the number of titles.

    But

Having talent and depth but getting the best out of it is what being the AB coach is all about.

However, for all the talk of the head coach, at test level i am more convinced than ever that the quality of the assistant coaches has more to do with the overall success of the team than just the HC.

In the current game, the most important coaches are arguably the defence coach and the skills coach. Our skills dropped off when we lost Mick the Kick and our defence is obviously shit

@rancid-schnitzel Still had 6 of the pack that would play in 95 RWC Final and 96 SA tour so should have won IMO.

Fox had retired and Little broke his leg so options were limited I guess. Mains should have selected Preston but for some reason despite him being halfback against the Lions he never made the tour.

Preston (a good goal kicker and decent fly half) was on the bench for some reason. Actually I know the reason - Mains had a major hard-on for anyone from Otago.

I’ve never actually seen a replay of the game but was that disallowed try fair?

I'm struggling to remember but was it a foot in touch? And I have a vague recollection I grudgingly accepted the decision...

I think so. If a fair try had been disallowed I’m sure we’d still be hearing about it.

    Fuck. Wouldn’t we just 😳

Hard to go past Luke Rooney in 2010 in this poll.

They went looking for another fullback when Israel Dagg was selected into the AB's in June, and not likely to make many appearances that year, HB somehow came across Luke Rooney ...

I would also note that this “poach” stuff only seems to apply to Islanders. Nobody seems to give a crap about Gallagher (and AB great) or Devine. TKB was born and raised in Australia wasn’t he? And would anyone have cared if that Pom who was running round for the Blues a few years back (the name escapes me) was selected for the ABs?

    Or other sports...

The World Champion test cricket side (I love saying that 🙂 )are full of 'poaches' 3 absolutely only moved to NZ for their cricketing careers and one as a kid. Near as damn it a third of the side.

Yet amazingly all seem pretty committed to NZ and as 'Kiwi' in their approach as any of the NZ born players.

England Cricket do / did get a lot of criticism, though - during their Pietersen, Trott years especially - for having similar ratios.
