Interesting article on the WR website about the Brazil v MABs game:

worldrugby.org Huge step forward for Brazilian rugby | World Rugby Huge step forward for Brazilian rugby | World Rugby

The Maori All Blacks' visit to Brazil earlier this month generated multiple benefits for the game in the vast South American country.

@bones well Cully got 7 in his first 2 so he was well ahead 😉

Obviously of all those names, Ralph also played by far the least number of games for the ABs too.

but the only one who went on to shag royalty

That over the shoulder tackle by Cohen would probably warrant a penalty try these days! 🙂

It's not Cohen's fault that Blair was a leprechaun disguised as a Rugby player....

Even on rugbypass's 10 minute "condensed" version I had to turn the sound off.

It was very funny, very much up with Ozzie commentating bias and fanboi-ism.

    @mn5 astounding really.

Sometimes as a nice alternative to eating a bag of chippies I'll chop up some peppers and dip them in hummus. Deliciously different.

Watching the highlights on BBC2 and you'd swear England had beaten a Top 5 side.

Circle jerk over Farrell with the last tackle. Definitely hit the guy in the air and should have been a penalty to Japan a la Lions v NZ.

Let's hope England play the same way next week against Australia.

They have thd backs to score the tries Japan couldn't.

This weekend's test match was the last for Linda Itunu and captain Fiao'o Faamausili, who are retiring.
This haka is a tribute by the BFs to these awesome players. Great how the French team joined the tribute by standing in line behind them.

    .

Quite a few players made their debut for the BFs this year, such as wing Ayesha Leti-I'iga, first five-eighth Krysten Cottrell, 10/12 Ruahei Demant, reserve LH prop Leilani Perese, Monica Tagaoi, outside back Natahlia Moors, flanker Marcelle Parkes.

The Ferns were also missing several players during this tour. Some retired after the World Cup (a.o. Rawinia Everitt, not sure what happened to Hazel Tubic), some were injured (a.o. Victoria Subritzky-Nafatali; Chelsey Alley got injured v the USA), again others were with the Black Ferns 7s team (Goss, Brazier, Woodman, Fitzpatrick and Saili).

All in all, it's understandable that they were not as strong as last year and didn't dominate the French like they used to (also full credit to the French, who have improved a lot and won the Six Nations for a reason!). The BFs are re-building for the next World Cup, and no doubt that will continue next year with probably more new players being introduced.

Glen Moore has done an excellent job with this team the last few years; I hope he stays (not sure for how long he has been signed by NZR).

Waiting for a direct app for the TV (and for it to come out of beta with all the kinks ironed out) - I don't want to have to get chromecast or apple tv.

I'm always wary about streaming though, it never seems to be that good a quality on the TV and there's always the issue of cabbage Oz internet failing at an important moment.

But, the price is definitely right, and we might actually get to see the NPC late matches live.

Mauger was awesome in 2002 and 2003, looked like he’d be a great, then he hit a wall and essentially got surpassed by Lucky.

Not sure why Ma’a’s career at the top is being shortened - he was our top 12 from 2008 - 2015. BFA doesn’t get ranked down because he took a relatively long time to become BFA.

how remarkably convenient. Ignored by the North when in a position to threaten. Now that Samoa has fallen in a complete heap, they are suddenly welcomed?

Squire took Reuben Thorne's cloak of invisibility against England. Just a question of form ?

I don't think Squire played that well against England, and you couldn't even praise his defence (only 5 tackles, Read only made 7 playing a full game in comparison) or ball running. I just don't see anyone better available. Squire has shown he can be a force in games previously so perhaps just one of those games in those conditions.

Let's hope he has a big game this weekend.

It's crazy that players can stand beside rucks and scrums with a finger touch and be considered bound. Make them bind or call them offside

And there was supposed to be a crack down on it, particularly for blockers on box kicks.

    Fucking whatever.

The penalty wasn’t even for Hadens dive.

Yes, but Oliver was diving too, he was much less enthusiastic about it and he just had the fortune to actually get fouled.

It may have been a penalty anyway. But it was also a pre-meditated cheat. We tend to laugh it off but I think the criticism is fair, it was an unsporting act.

Mess. Poor throws, bad timing of jumps.
