If I remember it later, I'll post a few links from other good sites with some rugby history.

Pleased to see that Mid Western stalwart and Chilean international, prop Sergio Felipe has made the Thames Valley Heartland team after moving down there to manage a dairy farm and playing for the local club team.
Great reward for a good man. When he takes the field he’ll make his NZ first class debut at the ripe old age of 32.

Robinson, Pryor and Ranger for me. Though Kara was really good.

    Close was Kitto and Matich.

Fifita said: "I like six because I can use my athleticism to do what I can do on the outside, rather than just stay tight and do the hard work like running into a brick wall and getting your body tired.

.................Not a great quote from Fifita in the herald... I like a 6 who thrives on doing the hard work

“Mate, have you heard of the no dickheads policy? You haven’t? Explains a few things I guess”.

Scratches his head while looking across at Dane Coles. 😉

TBF, Tongan Fifita's real problem is that he plays too much for the Canes - 10 minute cameos bro!

@trooa sumner has had a great relationship with Saracens. Pretty sure Justin Marshall set it up. Had the likes of James short , Sam Stanley , Nathan Earle , Zach kiribridge and quite a few others come down.

How many games did Alaimalo play on the Chiefs right wing this season ? I remember him playing with the Nr.11 or 15 jerseys, not the 14.

It's criminal for a WC final venue too, in my opinion. I guess the Olympic stadium wouldn't have been much better though. Regular old Prince Chichibu ground is my second favorite ground to watch footy, but like Waikato it's just too small for huge crowds, so not appropriate apparently. I still think they should have figured out a way of using it.

Beale had a pretty good season and was clearly the Waratahs best player.

I thought Bender had a bit of an inconsistent season, but not sure there was an absolute standout in that position for the NZ teams. Havili wasn’t as prominent as last season but was very reliable and showed a maturity to his game. Skudder was okay-ish if anything.

@mn5 Like Einstein? He was German.

    Just ragging you.

I've met quite a few Germans and the stereotype of them is that way for a reason.

I've actually met very few of them but their 'humour' is interesting....

@crucial @Wairau I'd say the bigger reason is that there are at least 4 million people that are very strong fans of the All Blacks, whereas the cycling teams do not engender that much emotion and certainly not with a such a wide swathe of people. I mean, who has allegiance to a corporate sponsored, made up team?

Chelsea and Man Utd seem to go ok 😉

If only I could remember which bunch of corporate fluffybunnies they’d Sold out to this close season, I would of course have corrected your irroneous names.

@number-10 Thanks, that really sucks for Farrell. He looked so promising last year and I hoped he'd be able to play for a SR contract this season.

Fatialofa is leaving the Canes; that will - hopefully - increase Cridge's chances to score a new contract. If he can stay in one piece.

@gunner when we were coaching the prems we always thought that playing the Prem game first would help to solve a few issues. it would allow for a full bench and the hearty prem players could then back up to make the numbers in the reserves.
we even went a step further and thought that if the reserve game was 2nd then if a prem club was fortunate to have NPC players then they would play one in the reserves each week to boost morale and give the younger players some experience. the other thing it would do is allow the scrums to be safer in the reserves as the prem props could back up and secure the scrums.
the other option that no one has talked about is because of the lack of numbers in reserve grade that could be turned into a 10's comp, 5 4wds and 5 backs, unlimited subs.

Crusaders and Lions, home advantage is too much - especially for the Tahs who are extremely lucky to be this far in the come (stupid conference system).

Crusaders v Canes is the real final IMO, and when the Crusaders win that I can’t see any of the other two travelling to Canterbury and winning there.

I think I loaded then with enough of my Blues juju to ruin their chances...
