Sorry, missed this before. Can't find any record of him being called up before this summer by EJ, but may be wrong

Nope my mistake. He was called up to an England training squad but got crocked, so probably didn't attend.

Not sure Barnes is that much better than in 2007. That France v Wales match in the 6 Nations this year lasted 100 minutes because - though possibly legally correct - he was afraid to award the French a penalty try despite repeated Welsh scrum infringements. It was a shambles.

Yep, the public voted with their feet based on 2016 results.

    2016: 12 games 4 wins

They had lost 7 out of 8 leading into this match

Hopefully they are turning it around it would be a disaster for southern hemisphere rugby if SA has prolonged decline like Wales did in the late 80's and 90's

And the Wabs follow that same trend

heard earlier that apparently this match/event was the biggest event in 6 years held in NZ where there hasn't been any evictions or arrests...read into that what you will.

Anyone who could be arrested was already in jail... 😛

Or busy trying to smash down shop windows.

@Crucial I can't remember the swing, do remember as part of the tramp we did some caving too and there was a trip up Tongariro (I think) too on the best day for weather we got.
Someone stuffed up badly for all those people to die so hopefully all the shit they got made them sort out their systems better.

Talking of bungy jumping I see A J Hackett got a gong too.

I followed that case quite closely and it was a major stuff up by anyone it was a combination of little things and decisions that added together lucked out badly. It was easy for people to point the finger and say 'should have done better' but this is obviously an outdoor environment and while risk assessment is done there is also a residual risk that is much higher than normal everyday life. It is that boundary pushing that makes adventure adventurous.
The was no slackness but I think that have probably now added a few extra safety things in like sat phone support in case the unexpected happens and more experienced support is needed.

Surely it wont be South Africa. You just know it will be a compolete cluster!

My preference if I was to attend would be France.

@Bovidae The way the Sri Lankans smacked Boult around he might not be a certainty either.

I see the SL game was at Edgbaston, as well - on that evidence home ground advantage might not save Jeets from the tonk. However, we'd need some pretty favourable conditions to give our seam attack an advantage over the Aussies, so there might be merit in playing two spinners.

The poms have tried for a psychological advantage by scheduling our match against them in Cardiff! 🙂

You mean trying to make us complacent, as the last NZ team to play a knockout match tin Cardiff won 62-13?

Would have loved to have seen Stephen Perofeta get a run a first five, given that Francis is leaving the Franchise at seasons end..!,Whats the point I ask myself, give the young fella a run,it's not if the Blues are still a playoff chance.

Great to see Ranger back in the playing XV for the game against the Reds, the mail I have been receiving,he is out of favour with the Blues and will not be offered a contract for 2018,

Both the chiefs and highlanders are in the running for his signature.

Any suggestions for Singapore? Only there for the first week of the tour, and the Wed game will have to be a sneaky tablet at the office, but any ideas for somewhere to sit all day Saturday watching rugby - welcome. Any bars at the airport likely candidates?

Safety matters. Some other racers used to laugh at me when I said I spent time to take the body shell off and check all the welds on my rollcage during the week after each race night (and all the bolts mounting the seat into the frame). Never regretted spending the time on safety precautions, and didn't trust my own welding to work on the rollcage myself whenever I found something that needed work. Still got KO'd once, and hurt a few times, but nothing that could have been prevented.

Plenty of heart and ideas in this Sunwolves v Cheetahs game, especially from the Cheetahs. The execution of those ideas isn't always good, but the Cheetahs are deservedly leading 26-7.
