His spelling and grammar were a crime against humanity. It will not be missed.

Gosh, if that's all you have to gripe about you haven't been paying attention ( MN5 hits submit after checking spellcheck repeatedly )

    It’s a real mother-fucker!!!

Fucking crippled today. Thankfully was able to see a doctor today for a prescription. Ruining my beer and racing day.

A mate got it when he was ~19 as a young subbie. When he told us we couldn't stop laughing at the poor bloke. I'd never heard of someone his age getting it.

One of my mates got it when we were in RNZAF and we took the piss.

    I apologised to him today

@Nepia I bailed on TWD in 2018 by the looks...we bailed on S3 of THT too, annoying alright, TBF, finale of S2 pretty much made my mind up that it was gonna suck.

So, (replying to you so I don't reply to myself), got to Ep 11 of THT and thought this Ep is great I'll keep watching this show next season. Then I watched the finale, Ep 12, and they made a writing decision even stupider than the finale of S2 and on a number of levels. So i was like that's I'm done with you now ... but turns out there's 13 episodes not 12. Now I have to decide if I watch 13 just be a completeist. I guess I have no rugby or league to watch so I may as well suffer the 40 minutes and be done.

For those interested, I've been putting all of our Court experiences down based on emails and diary notes sent at the time into a single document which I will copy to the Off Topic area soon. Keep an eye out for that. It is my plan to finish writing that story over the holiday break.

So now that you're presumably working from home to ride out this global depression, howzabout you get on with this then???

Been doing that but also work is crazy busy. I work for NSW Health and as you can imagine, we are kinda busy πŸ˜‰

But yes, I've been putting this all together for some time now and I'll get it out soon.

Thanks for the prompt @voodoo , it does help to get a good prodding every now and then.

Always an excuse with you government folk....πŸ˜‰

It seems we'll all be vegans before too long anyway.

Business No putting meat on expenses, says property firm No putting meat on expenses, says property firm

Developers Igloo Regeneration has gone vegetarian to cut its environmental impact.

Someone needs to do a Netflix doc that challenges the whole 'meat is really bad for the environment' bullshit (as it seems the Netflix docos are the only thing to be believed)

Water usage? Man there is some massive dis-information out there trying to prove a point. Look at most water footprint charts and instantly it looks like beef is 10-20 x worse in water footprint on weight. Therefore we must stop eating beef.
Hang on though, what have they measured? Ah, a burger pattie, because that accounts for so much production.
Take away the manufacturing water usage and get back to the actual beef itself and the chart would look very different. Then, what has been measured for say the soy or rice? Organic production , because that is what the promoters buy at Wholefoods. It has been upheld in many studies that good organic farming of these items reduces water usage by 50%.

Now the chart is looking quite a bit different and beef (while still in the lead) isn't quite the big scary 10x number it was.

Then, and this is the most important part, take into account the nutritional value. How much protein per 100g? hat about the vitamins and amino acids you need to add to a soy based product to make it a more balanced complete food? Add in the water use to produce/extract those additives etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, some animal production is terrible, both on an environmental and welfare basis. However don't go judging all animal product production by using the worst end of the scale and comparing it to the best end of the alternative scale.

Surely the better approach here is to demand better animal produc not no animal products.

Same goes with carbon emissions. Judging pasture raised animals with the numbers from factory farming.

I want to be very clear about this - particularly as most of us are middle-aged or older males:

GO AND SEE YOUR FUCKING DOCTOR

You should be having blood tests every 2 years to monitor your cholesterol at the very least, and also other interesting things like glucose, mineral levels, cardiac markers, cancer indicators, liver and other organ function shit.

My Dad - first attack at 46, major one at 60 - basically avoided his doctor and wouldn't do what my nurse mother instructed him was the best course. Dead at 67. Dick move.

I'd upvote your post, but I don't think 'liking' a post about your Dad dying is appropriate.

Apparantly that option took hours on Sunday, but might be the best of a bad bunch and there are buses too.

I still think driving is a good option. At least you can wait seated in your car with music and air conditioning. Just don't park too close to the stadium

As for Possums - WTF am I supposed to do with the carcasses? The first one went in the bin, the neighbour throws them in the bush. Is that alright? I just imagine more flies and rats?

If I can get my digger fixed I'll bury them but it is a bit labour intensive. I know my rep around here, but I seriously don't know how to get rid of bodies?

You really only need to bury them about 18 inches deep to avoid any nasty smells etc. If the ground is rock hard tip a few buckets of water where you want the hole.
