Southland under-19 prop Kaydis Hona was suspended from all rugby for four weeks after getting a red card for a dangerous tackle in his team's match against Taranaki on Sunday in the national tournament in Taupo.

It meant he missed Southland's win over the Heartland XV on Wednesday and will also miss Saturday's Michael Jones Cup final against Counties Manukau.

Meanwhile, Canterbury under-19 player Tom Christie received a one game suspension for striking an Auckland player in the game played on Wednesday.

He is also known as Sione Havili. Has played for Auckland and won the Bronze Boot in last year's NZ Schools v Aussie Schools game.

Funny story. We were at the pub and we're told that Auckland were 30 points better than Waikato and that Auckland -4 was paying $1:85. We jumped all over it and the guy who gave us the tip was back of queue and they closed the option before he got to bet on it. Ha ha

He was spewing. Had to take the head to head odds of $1:50.

He called it a money print bet and it really was.

Taufa Sione Talitui Havili is his name I think..
Another product of the Auckland Grammar Scholarship system..

Best use of resources getting him and Wiseguy on the field. I thought Wiseguy overplayed the cute short kicks/cross kicks. Auckland would have done better with a more conservative territory game IMO. Waikato did well living off the risky plays that went wrong.
Plummers goal kicking was a bit off in the final

The blindside Hoskins Sotutu (son of) had some great touches in open play

That was a dominant tournament from Auckland 145 points in 3 games.

@Duluth I'm quite glad to see that he plays 12 too, as it may indicate that he has the physical ability to step up at pro level.

cf. Anscombe played 10 in the NZ U20 team that had Sopoaga at 12 and Barrett at 15.

@mimic Quite liked the look of him when he played a bit of Mitre 10 Cup. Hope to see more of them blooded before the season's over.

Watched a litttle bit of the tournament. with that in mind here is a possible squad going into next years under 20 WC. Obviously might be a bit off, also includes any playing in Mitre 10.
