@mimic I thought that was a disease of old age and poor diet.
It's quite common amongst islanders (I think it's genetic), mainly due to our diet. Different foods trigger it for different people that I know. One of my mates had to give up doing calf raises or any exercises that put pressure on the joint cos it could trigger an attack lol

I think that's a bit of a myth. I sometimes get it from eating rich foods/too much seafood. I think it is a genetic thing because my dad and uncles do too.
As for Moala, as far as i know a lot of pacific islanders get it. Probably due to genetics.
Bloody painful.
Edit: beat me to it.

It's basically excess Uric acid forming crystals within joints (often in your foot).
My last severe bout was after eating Beef cheeks slow cooked in guinness, a pile of smoked mussels and cheese and a few glasses of wine straight after a flight. Pretty much the perfect storm. Felt like I had a nail driven through the middle of my foot for a week. -

I’ve heard it refered to as ‘Samoan cancer’. I know a number of Samoans that suffer from it. It can be managed through dietary choices.

You whinging Auckland feckers.
Traf. Park is usually excellent. It's been pissing with non-stop rain for the past two days.
Even with a little bit of surface water lying on it the ground has not turned to a mud heap in spite of a curtain raiser having been played on it so the ground cannot be that bad. Would they play a curtainraiser at Eden Park if the same amount of rain had fallen in Auckland as Chris B insists Nelson has had?

@stargazer
As well as being a piss poor commentator is anyone else annoyed as me with nearly all the commentators spouting useless statistics and comments. Has no one told them that viewers can see and that for them less is better.a
