Rustycruiser's fat busting efforts
6ft tall. I topped out at 245 late March/early April 2008. Down to 222 as of this morning. My goal is 200. Once I hit that, I will recenter my goal again. I didn't want to make it too difficult so that I would give up.

Just checking in. Two weeks later, and I weighed 215 this morning. 7 pounds in 2 weeks isn't to bad. I did cut all potato chips from my diet, which has certainly helped. Not missing them too too much.

Six month check in and update. Been floating around at 205 since August. Time to get back on the horse.

One year check in since the original post. 15 months ago I weighed 245. I am now a healthy, but still overweight 196. My new goal is 180 pounds. Still pretty chuffed. Down 50 pounds and keeping it off since April 08.

Seven month since last check in. Still hovering at 195 pounds or so. Haven't really worked out since late November, ate badly over Christmas. Put on 5 lbs or so and went to 200 over the holidays. But back down to 195 again. Almost two years on since I first started losing weight in April 2008.

Two year check in since the first post. Still at 195. I am at a good point where I can pretty much eat normally (healthy enough most of the time, with some junk food once a week or so), and exercising 3 times a week keeps me at the 195 level. Two years of keeping the 50 pounds I lost off. Happy enough, but have started swimming laps and will see where that goes, as I was a little bored with running.
Four year check in since the first post. I now weigh in at 188. Not quite 60 pounds shy of the 245 I was in 2008. I actually had a little bit of a lapse last year when I crept back up from 195 to 206/207. But I nipped it in the bud the day after Thanksgiving, and started running 3 miles, everyday. Lost 20 since then, and would have lost more but I indulge in my bad foods (chips/fries/chocolate) a little too much. Altogether, quite happy to be be four years in, and still maintaining the initial loss. Amazing what a little will power, combines with some guilt will do for you.
Screenshot of my garmin GPS log from April 28th when I hit a milestone. Have added another 25 plus miles to it since then. Stats are from Nov 26 2011 until April 28 2012
Nice work mate! Did you have to blow the dust off this thread? Long time.
Forget about dust, it was dead and buried! I happened to be updating on the other site, and thought what the hell. -
Update time. 3 more months. And still running every day (missed three days due to terrible toothache)

Aldo down another 6 pounds to 182.

My current Garmin log -
Yep, I think it's worth saying twice! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Down from 250 to 182 is fantastic progress. You've blasted through your short term targets! What's your next target? And can you maintain it-hope so?

I always think getting a cold or toothache is a great chance to lose some weight, and try to add in some extra light-cardio workout while on a restricted diet... -
Bringing this one back from the dead for my latest update.

Just finished a year of running every day. I started last November 26th, when after the US Thanksgiving my jeans belt etc were all a little tight.

Fast forward a year. 366 days. 366 runs. Actually, I missed 11 days due to weather and illness, but made I them up on weekends. 1232 or so miles. Killed 3 pairs of shoes, am working on killing 3 other pairs. Some stupid stats from my Garmin GPS. Best ever average pace (with a 3 mile minimum) was a 6.31 for a total of 19.35 for 3.01 miles. Slowest average pace was a 9.33, on the first day I started last Nov 26th.
And that is some dedication, well done.
The dedication was partly the result of not wanting to break the streak. If you look at my Garmin log, a fair number of the runs started after 11PM. I procrastinated as much as I could, before finally sucking it up and going for a run to keep the streak intact. Hell, you should see how many started after 11:55PM.
