Karate Tuesday night followed by some cat vomits and stretching when I got home.

Arse of a day at work Wednesday, didn't get home until 8 so no exercise.

Run last night - 5 km in about 26:30
Think I have some sort of intestinal upset as I'm getting tired really quickly. Last time I felt like this, the chiropractor said it was gut related - not absorbing nutrients or some such, so I'm hitting the probiotics to clean it out
Look, I guess I haven't been totally honest with everyone - the eating is a problem, and I need fix it. Also need to get back into regular road work. First thing in the morning, no excuses.

So walked 5.04km this morning in 42:27 followed by a 5.02 km run in 29:33

Pace was well down as my legs were sore as fuck from squats and lunes the other night, and I was fighting the urge to nard.
Controlled the intake yesterday and did minimal exercise - was 92.7 this morning which is back towards normal. Legs are feeling better and I've scammed work from home for the next 4 Tuesdays, so I'm going for a run in the morning! Will do some body weight stuff tonight when I get home, but no squats or lunges!
-
Ran 7 km in 39:24 this morning. Was about 2°C when I started but had warmed up to 4°C by the time I finished... Not so bad once you get going, and I think I need to stop thinking about pace and just keep covering the km on a regular basis.

Weight post run back down to 91.7 kg so heading in the right direction after turning the eating around the last couple of days.

But my appointment for the chiro was cancelled so have to deal with the bowel issue on my lonesome until I can reschedule ...
It was a little OTT but I can honestly say I've done worse. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Saturday was like one of my old treat days - anything goes. Thai dinner followed by ice cream didn't help.

The main issue I've found with my digestive system in the last two years of weight loss is that too much sugar at once stuffs everything up - literally!

A lot of the weight gain was due to the mini binge I went on a couple of Thursdays ago - three Scotch and coke mixers, big dinner + dessert + chocolate. After that, things weren't "moving" if you catch my drift.

That state of affairs persists until I smash a load of probiotics, go back to strictly basic unprocessed food, and go running to jiggle things around down there and flush it out.

If you look at my weigh in a couple of weeks back, I was 91.7 - so it wasn't permanent weight gain, just bloat.

I am regularly accused of being full of it, but this time I really was!
Karate tonight. Felt good though it wasn't exactly intense because of a number of new white belts.

Good thing it's a mood breaker - was grumpy beforehand as I'm working from home on Tuesdays and Mrs TA lined up a bunch of shit for me to do (washing, shopping, dinner prep). Then she only rocks in at six expecting me to have it all ready, when karate was at 7 and I'd actually been working up to 5.30.

I thought she'd be home by 5 to help out but I got over it. Communication is the cornerstone of a happy marriage.... I think...
Big dinner last night. Sucker for a BBQ.

Went for a run this morning 10.02 km in 56:05

Was going to turn off and take the shorter route at one point but it becomes a big juicy downhill at that point so I soldiered on.

Best km was 5:03 (the first one). Worst was 6:10 (7th). I'm actually enjoying this take-it-easy approach. Still burns, but didn't exhaust.
Weigh in this morning

92.5 kg, Chest 107, Waist 98, Hips 103.

Still a bit bloated, but that should subside this week and I'm expecting serious results next week.

Decided to have a crack at the distance of the City2Surf run here in Sydney. It's on my bucket list and I've run 11 km before so figured it couldn't be that hard

14.12 km in 1:22:13

Going at about 5:49 per km which is under 6:00. Therefore a win.

However, the actual C2S circuit apparently has a big fuckoff hill halfway through which I can't replicate in my part of suburbia.

It's on in two weeks. Maybe I should enter to tick it off the list?
Last night did cat vomits and then 50 pushups in 25, 15, 10 with 60 second rests. Man that actually sucked quite a bit - my power output is awful while I'm recovering from this gut thing. But its getting better.

Walked the kids to school this morning - 1.63km in 19:02 which included a LOT of stops (the GPS auto-stops when you're stationary).

Then ran 3.02km in 15:53 to go to the shops, and walked home 2.04km in 19:20 carrying a few kg of groceries. -
Karate last night to round out a busy day, but I ate too much at dinner so weight wasn't ideal this morning.

Still, with some aerobic work in the back end of the week I'm confident I'll see improvement. Gut is sorted.
So I've entered City2Surf - time to concentrate on the running stuff and drop a couple of kilos.

Course route looks like this: http://www.city2surf...sp?PageID=17811

And the elevation map looks like the attached pic according to some bloke's GPS. That Heartbreak Hill bit around 6km looks shitty. Hopefully by that stage I'm in my aerobic groove and can just shuffle up that before smashing the last half of the course.

But if I go anything better than 6 minutes per kilometre then I'm happy I guess. The 14km around home the other day was just over 82 minutes and having drink stations and other participants for pacing myself will make things easier.

The only issue is going to be getting in there early enough with Sydney's shitty public transport system.

I'll be running it in my new vibram fivefingers. Apparently the weather is always fine so the danger is in potentially overheating, though my group will start at 9:05 -
10km run this morning in 54:46. Just cruising until the last km when I gave it hell and came up with a 4:35 split (just over 13km/h).

Rest day tomorrow (going to see Pink in concert - and hopefully a bit of pink later if the wife has a few wines) and then 15km on Sunday. -

Not quite what I was expecting after the low 91 yesterday, but downward is good.

A week of running training and rest days coming up, then the big run next Sunday. A bloke I know who has done it before said it'll be crap starting in my group because I'll probably be zig-zagging in amongst the slow people.
