Fatbusting: True_Blue's Log
-
I am pleased to announce that after the insane process of moving into a house while renovating at the same time, my fatbusting campaign is back on track with a 5am hour-long session at the gym down the road.<br />
<br />
Weighed in at 113.9kgs! Heaviest I have ever been in my life. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
Session was well paced starting with 5 minutes on the bike, 50 minutes high rep upper body free weights and 5 minutes on the treadmill to cool down. <br />
<br />
Will run tomorrow, and train legs on Thursday.<br />
<br />
Injuries:<br />
<br />
Am experiencing tennis-elbow like pain in right elbow from tri-pulldowns. Will be brushing teeth with left hand tonight. -
<br />
don't go too light with those weights though - 'studies show' that heavy weights burn and reduce weight just as effectvily as light weights. Studies also probably show the opposite, but I emjoy lifting heavier, so believe the first study...<br />

<br />
I also prefer the 'go huge' approach...I was just scared of what I would feel like tomorrow <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
Get stuck in ya wooftah! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Seriously it feels bad when you've done a massive set of legs the night before and can barely walk up the stairs, but it feels good two weeks later when all that effort results in hardened muscle <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I had a funny incident with heavy weights when I was about 20. <br />
<br />
I owned a big 750 Suzuki then, and riding it out the parking lot after a heavy arms session, I found I just couldnt turn the handle bars and rode directly into a pavement at 10 km/h right in front of car-load of really good looking birds that I had trying to impress with my curling ability a few minutes earlier. They had to get out the car and help me pick the bike up, pissing themselves with laughter as they did.<br />
<br />
I felt like such a tool, I decided that getting pissed was the only way to wipe out the embarrasment so I phoned up a few mates and went down to the pub...and guess who was there? The same four lasses, who recognised me and took great delight in telling my mates what had happened ealier down at the gym.<br />

Time for an update:<br />
<br />
Wednesday 6am: Slow run +/- 5km, was planning to go a bit quicker but got stuck behind two rather nice looking lasses and decided the view would be a lot better if I behaved like a gentleman and let them set the pace...<br />
<br />
Thursday 5am: Gym training. 5 minutes on the bike, 50 minutes legs, legs legs and then 5 minutes on the treadmill. Squats, leg press, leg extensions, leg curls, calf press, repeat.<br />
<br />
Friday: 6am cancelled run due to inability to walk. -
love it 'unable to walk'...<br />
<br />
<img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
and even gets worse when the day after you are stiffer and sorer!!<br />
<br />
keep it up though, no pain, no laughs for your fellow busters!! -

So I'd do a killer hour after work, barely get upstairs to the showers to change, and then on the way home get something to eat. One day I decided to reward myself with a cheeseburger after having my usual protein shake and banana paddle pop. I pulled up at the drive thru window and went to order but instead it came out as this flouro yellow stream of chuck <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -

Jeez, that's bad even for McDonalds - I would have sent it back.<br />
<br />
Did you ask them afterwards if they wanted you to super-size it?? -

After a restful weekend on the couch watch the S14 and some very, very arb test cricket, Monday was back to the coalface.<br />
<br />
Monday 6am: Easy five km run.<br />
<br />
Tuesday 5am: Gym, 5 mins bike, then arms and chests with hammer curls, concentration curls, bench, inclined bench, flies, crunches, dips and press-ups for 50 mins, 5 mins treadmill.<br />
<br />
Wednesday: overslept, almost late for work<br />
<br />
Thursday: 5am: Gym, 5 mins bike, same workout as last Thurs i.e 50 minutes squats, leg press, leg extensions, leg curls, calf press, repeat, 5 mins on treadmill.<br />
<br />
I havent weighed myself as I don't feel I have actually lost any weight.<br />
<br />
Have been asked if I am available for a few games for local club 4th team (masters) and am considering it as I feel much stronger and fitter than two weeks ago... -
<br />
only nthing that sucks about playing rugby while training etc, is the old favourite, INJURIES. But rip into it and enjoy. Expect full match accounts, with photos of your five try effort...<br />
<br />
<br />
Told the buggers I'd be down at training around June-ish, which suits them as thats when they start feeling the loss of guys to injury, fair-weatherism, spousal pressure etc. I think three months in the sweatbox should be ok to see me through half a season of 'crocks'...<br />
<br />
Will keep TSF posted <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
I am really pissed off. <br />
<br />
I have been murdering the weights machines down at the local at 5am every Tuesday and Thursday, now lifting approx double the weights I did when I started this lark 5 weeks ago. <br />
<br />
My weight hasn't changed by more than a kilo! I am actually putting on weight...now 114kg.<br />
<br />
My belt size hasnt changed but pants do feel a little less strained at the waist...hardly the return I was looking for.<br />
<br />
My chest, shoulders, arms, traps, lats and quads have got stronger to the point that I want to start playing again, but thats not the point, I would like to be losing weight! -
Had a week off with the flu but hammered the machines again this morning at 5 am. Have decided to add a Saturday session as well. The only time I could get was 5:30...we''ll have to see how long that lasts.<br />
<br />
Running is becoming embarrasing as all the Comrades Marathon (87km's) approacheth and the roads are flooded with super-fit ultramarathon runners flitting about the place at high speed from about 5am so I have called a halt temporarily.<br />
<br />
Still unimpressed with the weightloss but definitly enjoying regaining muscle tone that I thought had gone forever.
