@taniwharugby she should be practicing saying “ chicken salt or plain?”
82% of people on a news hub poll don’t believe her
-
I think she is playing fast and not so clever about exactly what details were shared with her, so she can stick to her 'timeline'.
If she didn't know, why not? If she did, why no action? I can get that party leadership might have wanted to keep her insulated while they 'dealt with it', but this is a grim situation that's looking worse by the day. -
@Paekakboyz the problem with theory party leaders wanting to give her deniability on the allegations, is that she claims she asked specific questions about the nature of the allegations, meaning there are some blatant lies from someone involved.
More so that given the 'rumours' that have been about for weeks now, if she asked specific questions, they responded with lies, but 'rumours' continued, surely she should have pushed harder?
-
@taniwharugby yeah it doesn't really stand up when you start to pick apart the narrative aye. That latest Civilian article hit the nail on the head. A shambles was happening in the back room and not much better in the front of the house.
-
Considering she was asked about it at the start of August and sexual nature of the allegations was mentioned it’ll be interesting to see how long she can try and pretend she didn’t know .
If she does get backed into a corner and is forced to admit it she is well and truly fucked.
Pretty much every media outlet in the country has turned on her and the accused name is all over twitter.

And only really screwed as the moral high ground was seized with 'you don't have to lie to be in politics'. Don't do that, and don't say one thing and do another with #metoo and there are paths out of this mess. Right now it looks ugly for the short term, and probably the medium and long term too.

She could have learned a lot from John Key. Don't categorically state facts on record. This is starting to take on a Turei/Greens type feel. The government won't collapse, but they will take a hit for this. The only saving grace for them is this is not election year, so release a few puff pieces about the first child later and try to distract the public

@nzzp just so I'm clear, this is the woman fawning all over the world telling people how to live right? NZ should be a safe space. Controversial speakers are not allowed. Ban people from the internet. Be nice and inclusive to everyone.
Just checking...

Will be very interesting to see if Jacinda does survive this. Anyone else in the party with at least some popularity that can take the reigns?
Or anybody in the party that thinks they are popular who is happy to knife Jacinda? Probably more the key point.
