How many times does the baddy get away and she just fucks around, not even chasing?

Good first episode, introduced all the main characters, and one particular scene got Mrs DK's attention, you'll know it when you see it.

That showing here on TV anywhere? -

I thought it was great as well and I hope they do the next books as well.

As an aside I did enjoy the TV adaptation of Sharpe as well, although budgets and production values make it look a little amateur by today's standards

By all accounts the second series is either in production or has been green-lighted. Can't remember which.
-

I haven't had a lot of time to watch much recently but am slowly getting through The Man in the High Castle.

My only criticism is that in its aim for realism the dialogue can be a bit mumbly and muffled at times. An old fella like me keeps having to rewind scenes when I realise I missed something.

The rest of the production is amazing. The details and thought put into sets etc quite incredible. Feels very real and certainly not fantasy. I think the most amazing scenes are the simple household ones where behaviors are quite normal but at the same time different (neighbours greeting each other with cheery 'Sieg Heils' as if they are saying 'howdy')
-

Anyone watching Jessica Jones on Netflix?

Pretty good stuff I much prefer it to daredevil.

I was reluctant to watch this (getting to 'superhero' overload - although have bailed on Arrow so far this year) but I watched the 1st ep,and am intrigued enough to watch a few more at least.
-

It's an Amazon production. So officially through whatever way they distribute.

Unofficially? I can't say.

Edit: Only comes with a sub to Amazon Prime so whether that is available or geoblocked I don't know. The Amazon.com US site has a sign up for 1 month trial of Amazon prime for free which includes movies and TV
-

Was on YouTube last night watching trailer after trailer of new TV. Shannara, Colony, Man In The High Castle, Vikings (fuck yes), Heroes Reborn, Westworld... Where the fuck am I going to find time for all this?

You can ditch Heroes Reborn from you list for starters
-

Most of it isn't new though. It has been released already and over a period of time. You just need to keep up. ;)
-

Just to add to your misery, if you like Vikings, you will like the Last Kingdom, and as you like boobies, you will enjoy the first few eps of Narcos
-

I know your pain - on my current too watch list is the latest series of: Rectified, Orange is the New Black, The Leftovers, The Walking Dead & Fear of the Walking Dead - and that's before I start any new shows.

I'm quite keen to see Man In The High Castle of the new shows.

As for Jessica Jones I'm not sure if I'll watch it due to a number of reasons: 1. I'm a bit superhero-ed out, 2. I thought Daredevil was hugely overrated so wonder if this will be the same, 3. I don't really like Kirsten Ritter (she's like Nicole Kidman to me where I really struggle to watch her).
-

I havent bothered with Rectify since S1...I gave up on OITNB latest series, was just a bit meh....
-

Watched The Man in The High Castle this weekend, was pretty good I thought. Certainly worth a watch. Have not read the book.

ATTN Battlestar Galactica nerds. Your new sci-fi show to gush about premiered last night on the SyFy Channel in the US. It is called The Expanse, and the 1st episode was great. Awesome production values, excellent special affects, and pretty engrossing so far, with easy to learn characters/story. Second episode airs in about 2 hours, then once a week on Tues in the US. Again, never read the book
-

Alright Episode 3 and 4 of The Expanse are available on OnDemand or online on Syfy.com. Couldn't help myself and watched them. Episode 4 was freaking amazing. The special effects were on point, great space battle, best I have seen since BSG. Only bummer is I now have to wait 3 weeks till ep 5

Seriously, if you like sci-fi, watch this. I also enjoyed Killjoys on the same network earlier this year.
-

For those in NZ that are interested, this is airing on 'The Zone' (which is one of the basic sky channels and I assume something to do with MTV??) on the 5th of Jan, TR Jnr & I read The Sword of Shannara earlier this year so he is looking forward to it as well.

Thanks to whoever suggested Jessica Jones too, I thought I was all 'heroed' out and wasnt gonna watch it, but am enjoying it, have 2 eps to go, like the odd reference to The Avengers in it as well. I see they are making another series with JJ, Luke Cage (the big indestructible black guy who JJ actually marries in the Marvel world) and Daredevil.

Has co-incided with me getting TR Jnr the Marvel superheroes and villains encyclopedia for Christmas (I had been reading it before giving it to him...)
