charcuterie
had to google that!
I thought it was fancy underwear ...
Who says it's not?
If you think underwear made out of meat is a thing you’ve been hanging around @Snowy too long
Sounds like someone has their breef jerky in a twist.

Been vegetarian for 8 years and vegan the last 3 and a bit of those. I do it for the environment and for my running. I run ultra marathons on trails and I need to reduce all potential inflammation. It definitely works on that front as this sport is tough! have run with the Ultra Marathoner (Scott Jurek) on Game changers a couple of times (including a 50 km training run in the Zion National Park on a 100 degree day) and did a couple of gym sessions with one of the Body Builders on the show Nimai Dalgado who has never eaten meat in his life. Got to agree that activists can be a bit out there but majority are good as people as anyone. Pretty sure Ma'a Nonu was vegetararian last year and Adam Thompson has been plant based for a fair while too. Both old in Rugby age but still doing the business. TJP is flexitarian at least. Broncos captain went vegan but struggled with it so changed back.

Underwear? You're just sick, that's gross. Coats, hats, gloves, all classy - never underwear.

It seems we'll all be vegans before too long anyway.

Indeed. Because no restaurant in the history of time has ever doctored a receipt for a customer.
It will only be a matter of time before an employee takes a firm stance on this to court and wins.

If the boot was on the other foot and veggie food wasn't going to be paid for then that court case would already have happened.

@Catogrande the whole company needed to be on board, so they went ahead anyway even though there were "dissenters". Great thinking.

@Catogrande said in Going Vegetarian / Vegan ..:
@Bones Even the word "dissenters" is indicative of an agenda that WILL go through.
Alaways hated that word dissenters. Suggests they are in the wrong.
This is the sort of shit that causes negativity towards vegans.

Someone needs to do a Netflix doc that challenges the whole 'meat is really bad for the environment' bullshit (as it seems the Netflix docos are the only thing to be believed)
Water usage? Man there is some massive dis-information out there trying to prove a point. Look at most water footprint charts and instantly it looks like beef is 10-20 x worse in water footprint on weight. Therefore we must stop eating beef.
Hang on though, what have they measured? Ah, a burger pattie, because that accounts for so much production.
Take away the manufacturing water usage and get back to the actual beef itself and the chart would look very different. Then, what has been measured for say the soy or rice? Organic production , because that is what the promoters buy at Wholefoods. It has been upheld in many studies that good organic farming of these items reduces water usage by 50%.Now the chart is looking quite a bit different and beef (while still in the lead) isn't quite the big scary 10x number it was.
Then, and this is the most important part, take into account the nutritional value. How much protein per 100g? hat about the vitamins and amino acids you need to add to a soy based product to make it a more balanced complete food? Add in the water use to produce/extract those additives etc etc.
Don't get me wrong, some animal production is terrible, both on an environmental and welfare basis. However don't go judging all animal product production by using the worst end of the scale and comparing it to the best end of the alternative scale.
Surely the better approach here is to demand better animal produc not no animal products.
Same goes with carbon emissions. Judging pasture raised animals with the numbers from factory farming.
