our tough border control....
my neighbour has an Air B'n'B cabin and they had an Israeli couple ask if they can book it for 14 days to isolate themselves!

@voodoo you seen that Tom Hanks movie?
Terminal or Castaway, take your pick.
Love Terminal, great flick!
I reckon I could happily live at an airport for a couple of months.
Alone at least, not so much with the family.

I live in Taiwan. We have been wearing masks at our schools for 2 weeks. Annoying but needed. Lots of cleaning protocols, too. The children wear masks all day, even when outside. It helps them stop touching their faces.
The population in general are very obedient to govt. directives and are very worried. They certainly don't have a "she'll be right" attitude towards it.
Taiwanese don't mind cutting down the fun time drastically and are much less invested in leisure needs than Westerners. Because they have much less free time anyway.
I wonder if these cultural differences might make it much more likely for the disease to explode in the West.
Anyway, here is some info' on why (touch wood), Taiwan has been very good at containing the disease so far.

NZ's IT professionals preventing the Reserve Bank from doing something stupid like negative interest rates, by not being able to handle negative numbers in their systems.
Hooray for the NZ IT professionals.
I mean it.
This governor probably cut his own umbilical chord as a baby.
He cut OCR 50 basis points last year at the threat of a possible well overdue mildest of mild corrections.

Bill Gates warning us all in 2015, no wonder the guy is a billionaire, he can see into the future.
And he will sell the vaccines to make lots more money out of it, while everyone else goes backwards

Any other blokes considering shaving their arse to use less toilet paper? Regional Australia town has no toilet paper anywhere. Lined up outside supermarket this morning and they didn't even have a delivery. They said probably nothing until Thursday. I almost think the Govt may need to setup depots with essentials and ID used to stop panic buying. Lots of older people most be struggling to get basics.
Get a bloody bidet you fucking savages.

If they close the schools, my 'darlings' are old enough to be at home by themselves now, not great for those who's kids are not old enough, but could keep working only to need to take time off to look after kids....or worse, ask grand parents to look after them.

South Korea really looks to be all over this.
Going by my calculations -3% Growth in the last 24 hours. That's incredible considering they still have over 7,000 active infections. From what I understand they went absolutely nuts getting tests out. It drove their active infection level high but they at least managed to ringfence it. -

Awesome to see BBC still sending their reporters and crews out all over the country to interview businesses and people self isolating. Genius stuff.
Don't be astonished! It's really important someone is there at the plastic container making factory in Lancashire to bring us the news that they're asking employees to stay home if they're feeling unwell and to wander the floor talking to everyone about how they feel about what's going on, plus talk to the big boss and make sure they stick a big furry Mike in their face.
How would we find out about this important stuff otherwise?
