Disney's Onward. Soooo good. Really enjoyed the idea of it too, in a magical land where noone uses magic anymore two teens get to bring back their deceased dad for 24hrs. So sweet, proper family movie.
Looks like a different sort of Pixar film

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker
Solid movie, nothing special but was good enough, guess it goes back to the more simplistic goodies vs baddies and the goodies can survive unbelievable situatons more often than baddies can.
3.5 more cute animals or droids out of 5 holy fucks, look how many destroyers they have

The Gentlemen
A well trodden path, but I loved the walk.
Sits between Snatch and Lock Stock for me.
Looking forward to re-watching it.

John Wick 3
I’m ok with escapism but this is so hilariously overplayed I can only watch one set piece at a time. The one with the horses was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
So .... it was awesome?
Edit: Not as good as the first one (but little is). Three and a half bullets out of five pieces of brutality

Turns out my kids fucking love an "uplifting sports movie"
The Rookie (my personal favorite) Remember the Titans, Glory Road, Invincible, Rocky.
It's been pretty sweet

In recent days I have used Sky's free movie channel offer to watch a couple of MCU movies that I never saw on release.
Spider-Man - Far From Home: decent enough but a step down on Homecoming.
Dark Phoenix: I just finished watching. Definitely a low tier Marvel movie but not quite the lemon I was expecting. No reason to watch again. -
@Bovidae Yeah, this lockdown is allowing us all to watch or re-watch stuff we might not get around to. I re-watched the original Pink Panther movie yesterday. Just fantastic. Great cast, great dialogue, great settings and Peter Sellers creating one of the great cinematic characters. Well worth the time spent.

Fond memories of watching that as a kid with my father. To this day we still make "do you have a licence for the dog" jokes.

@antipodean Yeah the "Does your dog bite?" "Non". Cue Clouseau getting bitten. "It is not my dog". T'was a family favourite for years. Then once, when visiting a canal side pub, my friend's son approached a couple with a dog and bent to stroke the dog asking the guy if his dog bites. "It's not my dog" was the answer. Gales of laughter from all of us and looks of bewilderment from the random couple.

Coach Carter today. Again, pretty good
