Movie review thread...

You are all scaring me now this is too much pressure.
The best films are 4,5,6. The other six are pretty meh, but have good special effects.
I would just skip to 4,5,6 and circle back to the rest. There is a twist in there that 1,2,3 will spoil.

Do as Kirwan says. It's not too late to jump to 4 5 6 and it won't ruin 2 and 3 (they do a good job of that on their own)

Start with Return of the Jedi, then go to the Hobbit, then go to Return of the King, circle back to the Half Blood Prince, then Temple of Doom, then from there, you will know which one to go with next!

Can I add in that I don't understand the derision that Solo got.
Like the prequels and sequels it didn't stand up to the OT but as a standalone within the SW universe it is watchable escapism. Got fucked up from being better by the change of producers while filming in that it isn't as cohesive as it could have been but I still think it was an OK watch with some very good moments.

That was one of the better Star Wars movies. Had some real clunker moments in it though.
Hinting that Lando was fucking his droid, awful way Han got his name, for example.
I'd have been interested to see the original vision from the first directors. You could feel there was a manic farce element bubbling underneathe. That might have been something different.

Or if Richie Cunningham had the project earlier. He can be bland but does know how to tell a story. I’d imagine it would have been much more along the lines of 4 with a setup, crisis, escape, action and outcome instead of trying to squeeze in elements that had already had money spent on them.

Just got Movies added for free to Foxtel after threatening to cancel the entire service.
So the wife and I watched a few things, nothing really worth noting except...
A movie I've watched at least half a dozen times but it had been a few years since last viewing and one that is definitely in my top 10 list, Groundhog Day.
Absolute brilliance and still holds up today. A master class by Bill Murray, just nails it.

Don't need the movie. We are living in it.

Skyfall.
Still my favourite Bond film of all time (controversy!). Fantastic opening scene, excellent villain, great use of legendary London spots and then the majestic Scottish Highlands for the final stanza. Not too silly on the gadgets, and the Aston.
And lets not forget Mallory's trousers.
4.5 shaken out of 5 stirred.
