I actually thought it was pretty good, oddly I didn't see that similarities in Ragnar/Utred, aside from the leadership/Viking mentality.
Last season wasn't as good, but good enough I'll be giving the new season a crack.
I've enjoyed both series up to a point. Vikings is now dead for me and this pretty much coincided with Ragnar dying, I think it just lost its way and got full of lazy stereotypes. The Last Kingdom I have liked and watched all four seasons, though I find it is getting a lot looser in the storylines and has gradually diminished, though still watchable.

@taniwharugby fella from room 404 is busy.
White Lines looks like it could be a very good watch.

Finished the series 'Trying', very enjoyable, as mentioned earlier, some hilarity, but also some more serious stuff.

@Nepia yeah that was a bit gutting.
I've just finished all four seasons over the last two weeks and found it to be enjoyable, though quite repetitive. I've enjoyed it more than I did Vikings which I gave up on after season 4.
I am straight up astounded by this - IMHO the first 3 seasons of Vikings were brilliant and the ones after that pretty watchable. This just seems like knock off (with less charismatic actors, as I noted above).
Weirdly, I'll probably give it a couple of episodes of S2 out of laziness of trying to figure out a new show to watch. It might become my new Walking Dead where I just complain watch and update the Fern.

@Bovidae I gave up on the latest season of Vikings after about 3 or 4 eps.
Used to love Vikings, even thought the 1st seaosn post Ragnar was good, but now...
I thought S1 of TLK was very good, havent started latest season, but def lowered expectations as it seems on a downward trend.
@Nepia interestingly reading @Toddy comments, it isnt the first time I have heard that view of TLK vs Vikings...

@Nepia being astounded by it seems a tad dramatic.
Both shows are pretty good, I just enjoy The Last Kingdom more.
I hated myself for hate watching The Walking Dead. I can't even remember when I finally managed to stop. Maybe season 8.
Overly dramatic on the fern, never. If you read my earlier post about it in this thread I don't think it's remotely near the level of Vikings (at least in S1) so that's where that comment comes from ... feels like I cheap rip off to me (but as per usual, unless it's the prequel trilogy, we can all enjoy what we enjoy).
I think I maybe stopped The Walking Dead a season ahead of you, and hearing how it has gone since then I'm so glad I did.

I think my expectations might have been too high. If I'd gone in cold I may have enjoyed it more?

I still have the most recent episodes of Vikings to watch, and I'll stick it out to the end. By the comments here I don't think I will even bother with The Last Kingdom. It sounds like Knightfall - watchable but not great.
Much better than Knightfall. I couldn’t sit through that till the end of S1. Not awful or unwatchable, just not engaging.
Re-watching The Witcher to see if I can make more sense of it, mostly timeline related. It’s working so far (Ep3).
-
@Catogrande I am sure The Last Kingdom will be better than Knightfall. But I've got other TV series I want to get around to watching and only so much time to watch them, so that won't be one of them.
Anyway, 6 seasons of Bosch done over the last few weeks. I didn't think S6 was as good as previous seasons so we'll see how they wrap the show up in S7.

@taniwharugby always good when you realise that!
