@MiketheSnow If you check the stats you'll find that category includes construction workers, cleaners, etc.. Probably needs a cold towel to draw conclusions.

A bit of light-hearted releif.
A story of stupidity, gullibility, Glastonbury Town Council, 5G & Coronavirus......oh and £400 anti-5G USB sticks.
-
@Victor-Meldrew what an absolute rip off. These things do the trick just as well and are available at my local Poundland.

Any bloke that can rock up at No. 10 in a tracksuit without a gold medal around his neck or a Glock 9 in his waistband knows he can do what the fuck he likes
And does.
Durham Police backed down.
End of story.

@MiketheSnow Irony is that Maitlis did Tories a huge favour with her monologue!

That, and the clips of Sky hassling Cummings elderly parents, appeared on my District Councillor friends FB feed yesterday.
He commented they were being shared widely in Conservative social media and they generated genuine anger at what they saw as a media witch-hunt.

The worm has turned BIG in the media here. Itv has some scoop tonight on care homes and the government. Literally nobody gives a fuck.
@Rembrandt is being proven right.

Chasing ratings and not the truth.
So many "scoops" have turned out to be a mix of half-truths, surmise or simply made up stuff presented by crap, shouty "journalists", so maybe people have turned off.

Fascinating comments on the UK media by Labour's Shadow Scottish Secretary.
Pretty much nailed it for me.

Of course we can trust the common sense of the great British public
There were less people on the Chilkoot Pass

Me too. I used to go to Lulworth and Durdle Door lots back in the day and really loved it. Went back a couple of years ago and not so much. DD in particular was so crowded, there were dozens of coaches going up to the camp see where they now have separate parking. It was carnage.
As a by the by have you ever noticed the prevalence of wasps around that area? Millions of the bastards. The pubs in Lulworth now have wasp pubs which drown the little fluffybunnies and whilst this is a good thing, sitting outside in the sun drinking your pint and being surrounded by plastic bowls full of wasp corpses is not actually very nice.

Possibly my favourite bit of English coastline. Sunsets walking west are sublime.

We're open!
Ok, not quite. Daughter back to school today, and she was over the moon about it. I do have some reservations that we have been too soon, but as is the way these days, I can find Professor / Science evidence to support either way. However, she is only 6 and the daily stats issues by the NHS tells me that people in this demographic are safe. So I'm cool with it. Speaking of that, 113 today at this point, which is our lowest in a long time. Encouraging.
It does feel like the lockdown is easing in quite an aggressive manner, although I feel a sense of Darwinism will come into play. Some idiots for sure are having parties etc, that may come back to haunt them. We have cautiously been at other peoples houses over the last few days, but always kept our distance and always outside. Our social / family circle all seem to be of the same viewpoint, so it makes it easy to stick to it. Having said that, I did go to Homebase yesterday in Staines (bit of a shit hole) to get a wheel barrow, and everybody there was sticking to the rules like glue. I really think the message has gotten through and despite what the arseholes in the rags will tell you, people will be sticking to them for a while yet and far beyond govt guidelines.
Got 18 holes booked in on Wednesday at Gatton Manor too, playing in a 4 ball. Will be great to be out amongst same lads again. Well I say lads, 42-54 year olds men, at least. We won't be able to sink a pint afterwards, but I'm ok with that. 3 of us play off 20-30, with one playing of +1, it's unlikely we'll get to walk together anyway as 3 of us spray it every which way but straight, whilst Mr +1 saunters down the middle.
I think we will have a second wave, and the government will get it in the neck again. Although the polls seem to indicate that Boris still has a handy lead and it's a long way until the next GE anyway. Which I guess he's aware of. EU meddling / Brexit is starting to get back into daily conversation again now, which I guess means things are slowly getting back to normal.
All in all , quite upbeat today. Only time will tell if it's for the right reasons.

Yep uncharted waters.
Kind of glad Wales is a couple of weeks behind England.
The unitary authority where I spent most of my life - Rhondda Cynon Taff (RCT) - has the highest rate in Wales and I think the UK.
So if the second wave does hit hard in England hopefully Wales, and RCT in particular, will take note.

@MajorRage It's all a bit mixed down here. It seems that most are observing common sense but some are being just complete piston wristed gibbons. A pub on the quay in Exeter opened up a take away service. Result: People hanging round, getting pissed and then pissing in the pub seating areas. Broken bottles and glasses all over the place, litter everywhere and all round rowdy behaviour. So pub closes. Social distancing? Not much. On the flip side, we went down to Slapton Sands (where the D Day rehearsals got an almighty pummelling) and it was all pretty cool. Not too busy, no-one infringing on anyone else's space. The noticeable difference was age really.

They'll label it Coronavirus misbehavior but let's tell it like it is

I read somewhere today in regard to the testing figures that a nasal and mouth swab on one person is being counted as two tests. Still to hit the targets consistently too!

Think that has been debunked. The number is based on test kits used or sent out and they now report testing capacity as a separate number.
As an aside. Ms Meldrew no.1 told me the press reporting on PPE has been quite ignornant & pretty much garbage, e.g.gloves. Some are supplied & counted singly, others as pairs while packs of four gloves are also counted as a single PPE item, dependent on medical procedure.

We have a weird phenomenon happening down here.
Locals telling each other that visitors are everywhere, ignoring lockdown, local beaches are packed, campervans are everywhere, etc, etc.
When we do a drive-by when collecting the shopping, we find the beaches looking deserted and hardly a camper-can in sight. Loads more people at work though. Perhaps it may change this week.
