@photo-fox is 18 (and counting) up votes for a single post some kind of TSF record?
Getting up there. Seem to remember a 22 or thereabouts but probably involved a hot chick (see that @Rembrandt got there before me).
The interesting thing for me is that it a politics thread - and nobody EVER agrees, about anything, anywhere, let alone the US. Consensus about rugby is rare, but here...
I'm not sure they are all agreement likes as such. But it's a great post because it is an opinion of someone in the country unfiltered by media or anything else. And it wasn't aimless screeching it was interesting information
I gave @photo-fox an upvote for the compliment. Which is really like patting myself on the back.

Ending my overly long post by saying... I'm humbled by y'all. I wish my compatriots had half the knowledge of and a tenth the ability to peacefully discuss our nation's problems as I've seen displayed in this thread.

@antipodean that last bit was sort of a compliment to all of us wasn't it? 🤔😁

Aimless Screeching is what the Fern does best though. Also an awesome band name.

How many musos we got here? We have a bass player, who else?
I want to go and see Aimless Screeching. They would sell out
(a small room on friday, during covid, with no rugby, or cricket, or sports at all).

I had lunch with my Zimbabwean friend yesterday. This madness has actually gotten to the point where some of her white friends have messaged her to apologise for their 'white privilege'. The kind of person who demands others take a knee for them are not the kind of people who should have any power at all.
I'm starting to think there is a parallel here with the turning away from religion. Maybe people really do need something to worship and believe in. I'm no charlie church but give me preachy Christians any day over this mess.
What the actual fuck?
FYI
The foot washing I suspect stems from The Last Supper (John 13 ... I just Googled).
Some of the more "expressive" Christians do it as a symbol of ... something ... humility? Respect?
Dunno.
Google it.
I understood the reference.
Still WTF

What happens if you're mixed race?
Do you get one foot washed or you you use only one hand when washing a foot?
(I'll get my coat....)

The light has been shone on the Democrat's. And its not a good look. Far from it.
Nanny statists (and dangerous at that) and old (and young) nutcases. As this video shows
With a Presidential challenger who hardly knows where he is anymore
By Andrea WidburgFor those of us who vividly remember the Life Call commercials, it was impossible not to see in Nancy Pelosi and the other leaders the pathetic, frail, helpless woman, trapped on the floor, crying out, "I've fallen, and I can't get up":
When I see Democrats crawling around on the ground, I do not see leadership or even faux humility. I see a party that is weak and has lost its way.
I know that people are worried about the violence in Democrat-run cities and the rise of Black Lives Matter as a political force on the left. However, I see all this rampaging theater as a good thing. This isn't an ascendant force; it is a political party in its death throes.
For a brief moment, in the early 1960s, the Democrat party could be said to represent good things for and about America. It was against communism, it was beginning to turn its back on the racism it espoused with slavery and Jim Crow, it was fighting for second-wave feminism (equal pay for equal work and equal access to jobs), it wanted lower taxes, it supported the American worker against the world, and it believed in the American family and its values. One could disagree with its belief that government expertise could solve problems, but its heart and the hearts of its broad base of followers were in the right place.
Today, the Democrat party is for ...*

@Rembrandt It's just evidence the mentally ill aren't getting the services they need.
Speaking as a defence attorney, it worked for an Olympic athlete...
