I'm glad to see that Patrick Gower is sorted for his self-isolation

Not much chance of brain damage.
Strange guy Paddy. Every time he starts to appear decent and likeable he goes out of his way to sensationalise something, getting facts wrong left, right and centre and ends up looking like a twat.

Yeah - pretty angry about that.
As I'm seriously considering flying from NZ to the UK, settle my affairs there, and flying back. If shitknuckle fuckheads like this continue their fluffybunnery, then I'm expecting a two-week sojourn in fucking Whenuapai, and I'd understand.I don't know why they aren't already using Whenuapai or Whangaparoa
I can't understand why people think there are all these usable beds lying around in defence establishments or why it would be any easier putting people in them.
Defence land is secure to keep people out, not in and the last thing any service wants is civvies on their bases and all the ensuing problems.
Command of soldiers etc on bases is able to be done with minimal supervision. Like gated communities where they can do their own thing away from the 'normal' world.Put civvies in there and you'll be dragging senior staff out of important work elsewhere to put the structures in place. -

Another douchebag in Hamilton, cut the ties holding fence together (must be a temporary fence).
They are all temporary fences. Hotels don't usually set themselves up as prison camps.
Just those high construction fences that snap together. probably had cable ties to make it harder to 'accidentally' go through. If we had a spare remand ward somewhere I would be happy for it to be used.
Maybe there are some buildings still standing at Ohura? Good luck finding a supermarket there.

They need to set an example of these fluffybunnies!
Most people abide by the rules, but a few fluffybunnies ruin it for everyone.

Public execution. You'd only have to do one or two.

@Stargazer I hear the Auckland Islands are cool this time of year.
-
@taniwharugby I hope they smack them hard with a steep fine or stint in jail. These people are stupid and selfish. It's two weeks in a hotel FFS. If they really want something to whine about, we could stick them in the old health camp at Maungatepopo. That will be crisp this time of year.

orand a stint in jailFIFY...my guess is some of these people will pay a fine at $5 per week, so a further 14-28 day stint in jail might make them think twice about leaving 14 days in a hotel room, maybe even have the chance of a conviction added to the stay as well.

Easy choice really, 14 days in a pretty sweet hotel where your waited on or a month in a cold jail cell where you get 3 shitty meals a day and share a cell with a couple of meth addicts and some huge guy who finds you attractive.

So they would have walked to a liquor store on Te Rapa straight. piston wristed gibbons.
These offenders should be named and shamed before a conviction.
-
@Bovidae yep, they did a peice on the news last night where other people at these iso-tels have apparently been copping abuse from people walking past, all because of 3 (that we know of) fluffybunnies that cant think of anyone other than themselves.
Surely if it was just liquor this guy wanted, a few approved outlets can take payment online and drop items off to the hotel to be put at his door.
THese people are making an awful lot of Kiwis mad as hell!
-
@taniwharugby They can use Uber Eats or get relatives to drop off food at reception. I am sure they could deliver alcohol as well.
There is no excuse for these selfish pricks to do this.
