@Crucial @Nepia I thought we decided long ago that the only musical worth watching is Les Mis. Nothing else, ever.
I'm assuming you haven't seen Jersey Boys?
I have actually! Took the old lady to it about 6yrs ago in Sydney. Was actually fine, not spectacular, though she loved it. Never again obvs

good show. Funny factoid about the dodgy guy that used to lead the 4 seasons ending up as Joe Pesci's driver. No Jean Valjean though

I think Andy's last line to Booker suggests she will be around a little longer.

Oceans 8.
Same movie, different genders, similar plots. Pretty good though to be honest. Bullock is sensational for a 55 year old.
3.5 pinched diamonds out of 5 missing night foxes.
Can I ask how you were coerced into watching this??? Did you have an affair? Were you coming off a 3 day lads golf weekend? [edited for bad typing]
Surely there is some background here.

Mind you I have decided that I can’t stand musicals especially long ones in uncomfortable and expensive seats where the audience goes stupid just because an actor gives them a wink.
Yep. People breaking out into song mid-sentence every 15 minutes or so is just bloody tedious.

@voodoo loved the oceans movies snd 69% on RT suggested it was decent. It was.
Don't be coy, that can't be it.

@voodoo to be serious for a second ... it’s Bullock and Blanchett. They wouldn’t do a super shitty woke reboot.
I hear you.
I do like Sandra, I really do. I'm actually the king of romantic comedies, not ashamed to admit it, and I like many with her in them
But this movie just seemed like they took an incredible movie (I LOVE the original), and tried to ride its coat-tails on a woke-wave (TM)
I guess it's great that they did a good job of it though!

Above Suspicion - based on a true story of a young FBI agent, who decides to have an affair with his informant, redneck Emilia Clarke
Was ok, but nothing special, 2.75 crack whores out of 5 but your wife is in the next room

Sorry to bother you
More like sorry I wasted my time on this shit. Young black guy starts work for a telemarketing company and alienates his mates as he succeeds and moves up the chain. It then descends into a bizarre parody that is too stupid to take seriously and too unfunny to be a good pisstake. Terry Crews and Danny Glover must have fallen on hard times to even have small parts in crap like this.

Official Secrets
Based on a true story of the Brit intelligence officer who leaked the memo about the shenanigans leading up to the invasion of Iraq. Basically who's who of Brit acting (Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, Rhys Ifans, Jeremy Northam, Matthew Goode, Matt Smith etc) and a really tight story.
4 illegal wars out of 5 idiot Tony Blairs.Eurovision Song Contest: the Fire Saga story
I guess this was supposed to be a comedy, but I'm finding Will Ferrell gets less and less funny nowadays. Rachel McAdams stopped this from being a total tank and the supporting cast offered some flashy trashy goodness, but he's getting a bit old to still be playing the goofy weirdo romantic lead. It's like those American dudes who keep going back and hanging out at high school haunts wearing their football jacket. A bit sad.2 ja ja ding dongs out of 5 points for Iceland.
