Lockdown/Covid Check In

aww, I actually think of you as Victor Meldrew from One foot in the grave (sorry you aren't in the Jamie Dornan gang)
I rewatched some of it about a year ago and was still so funny. One of my faves.
So it does make me sad to think you are glum. Thanks!
Victor Meldrew is one of life's heroes though, isn't he?. Hates poor customer service, doesn't take any shit from anyone and gets stuck in when he spots someone being given a hard time. Apart from his hairstyle, I'm not sure I have much in common....
I'm not really glum - more the usual post Christmas mental hibernation coupled with frustration and impatience for things to return to normal. Besides, I wake up to a great view most mornings..
In this germy household Mr RL has had another negative result so we are done flogging the covid horse, its definitely not covid, but now he's developed a cough, still weak as hell, can't sleep. God knows! Nothing worse than a sick man in the house π€¦πΌββ
He might have had Covid and it vanished before the test, so beware of the long-term effects which I had. They can last for weeks or months. If it helps, my GP suggested seeing him again for tests if things didn't improve after a 3 week period.

Is it okay to admit I'm not okay today? Really very down.
Yep. I just loathe post-Christmas January and February. Dull, dark, wet and miserable. And I've seen Mrs Meldrew for 3 days in the last 8 weeks.
Hate the grey. Looking after her parents?
Know what, it's quite funny...so far the ridiculously short days hasn't depressed me as much this winter, I figure because I'm not travelling so don't notice it as much.
Could be. For me it's the winter dullness and the post-Christmas gloom I don't like. On the plus side, the days are getting longer and the birds are starting to sing in the morning...
We have a robin (or two) that end up singing most of the night season-to-season anyway! Can't wait until we get the new windows in...

This lock down definitely feels like it would be tougher for some purely due to being in the winter. You guys are all supportive of eachother its lovely.

This lockdown is flying by and that's down to homeschooling for me I reckon, its so full on for a reception class.
I'm baking this afternoon not sure what yet, something that will go nice with gin tonight... βΊοΈ -

Very active at the moment. They're very territorial and their nests are almost impossible to find. We found one next by accident last year in a Buddleia stump, right where the cats uses to sleep. They didn't even notice.

@Victor-Meldrew yeah we had one nesting in the vine on our garden wall when we moved in, didn't even know until it attacked the MIL while she was trimming a shrub in front of the nest. Piss funny.
We have a big elder just outside the bedroom window (ooh err) that it sits in and goes ballistic whenever the sensor spotlights across the road go off.
Sometimes it takes things too far.

Snigger, snigger.
God I'm puerile sometimes

@R-L try going and peering into their nest.

@Bones attacked!?! God the Robins we have are so friendly they will hop onto the seat next to you, we do feed them a lot to be fair, they are my absolute favourite, just beautiful.
Feed the birds and what do you get? Fat birds.
-
@Catogrande tread carefully!
You've gotta love a feeder! -

@Bones I have it on good authority they are hard to find...we must have a few in bushes out the back though.
Just leave them be anyway, you would deserve a good peck in the eye if you go sticking your nose in.Ummmm...ok sure...I'll stop sticking my nose in. Cos that's something I never said happened...
-
@R-L good reading skillz eh. I told a story where a nest was disturbed accidentally resulting in a robin attacking the person who disturbed it. You told a story about how your robins are friendly. I thought my next post was pretty clear that they wouldn't be if you disturbed the nest
Sigh.

All that. But they are also one of the most territorial and vicious of birds.
We get swallows. Have 2 nests under the decking most summers. Probably my favourite birds. Here's a baby one.
