I'm struggling to work out how that tweet (was there just the one?) is in any way anti-Semitic.
Hint. It’s not.

I know. But I don't know you can even spin it and pretend

What I found weird... if I saw that post without context, anywhere on facebook or whatever the tweeter is, I'd have assumed it was a left-wing celebrity making a point about Trump and divisive politics.
And that's coming from somebody who comes in fairly left on that simplistic 2D political views survey/chart.
Her other twits - were pretty dumb. The one that got her in trouble - I'd think everybody, on both sides of that ridiculously polarised american political situation (her point, I'm optimistically thinking she was smart enough to make) - would agree with. -

I only saw them because I finally clicked on one of the articles in this thread, to see what this was all about - and they weren't anything offensive, just dumb... something along the lines of implying wearing masks being for sheep, and I think something just plain political - left wing sux, right wing rulez type bullshit.
Edit: I was half-right - one post implying masks were bullshit; and another stating there was voter fraud, and Trump was cheated. -
yeah, I think the last tweet was more of a last straw situation. There have been a series of tweets over the last year or so that would not be Disney approved (anti mask, COVID is just the flu, election was rigged) maybe not that bad individually but as a whole too much for Disney
-
If your position is that any comparison with the holocaust downplays the horror of that event, then her text was crass, hyperbolic and just a bit dim. I can see why Disney thought it cheapened their brand. But that’s not a sacking offence, especially when half the celebs in the world have been calling Republicans fascists, which diminishes the reality of that horror, for a couple of years with no sanction.
What a time to be alive.

@mariner4life i think i tend towards the more "woke" side of things generally...but jeez, surely better to enjoy the good aspects of things like this and just point out the bad stuff so people arent ignorant of the past

no!!! the fact the Seuss is fucking great for teaching kids to read is fucking nothing compared to writing in your own undertones. Or ignoring the fact that these books are fucking up to 80 years old!!
burn. every. single. fucking. copy.

froth away!
I'm not entirely sure which is worse...
- The study deciding the books were full of racial stereotypes, and woe-is-me - not many girls (assuming gender much, you pricks?)
- Or the article itself with the misleading headline, deliberately trying to provoke the backlash. There was no celebration of Seuss dropped, or cancelled, or banned, or anything. Just a move to make "Read Across America Day" not intrinsically tied to Seuss. (Citing ridiculous reasons for this, but still...)
We are living in a wondrous age, of people being triggered, and then other people being triggered by that, and so on, and so on.... what's the time set to on the cultural-armageddon Doomsday Clock?
