Well, the heavy hitters getting involved now. Real real pressure on EU with their new vaccine rules. St Jacindahas called them wrong.

@MajorRage aka don't be a dick, and the EU is very much being a dick about this.

@MajorRage I saw that earlier and my first thought was "about bloody time". Second thought was "I wonder what sparked this off"? It would be just the sort of thing that would get Boris going so maybe it is his initiative.

Jesus fucking christ

@MajorRage
Think it's been bubbling away for sometime and now the light at the Covid tunnel is visible, they've decided to take some action.As @Catogrande sez, about bloody time.

Changed my mind about Rees-Mogg after catching a TV programme with him and Labour's Jess Philips (who I thought was a shouty air-head) a few months back.
Neither take themselves too seriously and both came across as funny, warm and human - unlike so many robotic MP's

Good for him (and her) but there appears to be far more pressing things to discuss than breakfast cereals ffs

Man alive. It continues.
So this morning, Hancock went on GMB. He's been smashed recently in the media for
- He apparently broke some law where he didn't file receipt for govt expenditure within an expected timeframe.
- Going on Marr and stating that the country never had a national PPE shortage because of all the hard work his team did.
Now obviously, the shouty bullshit media are jumping out saying this is bullshit because there were plenty of places using bin liners etc etc ... He's being accused of being a liar, grotesque, disingenuous etc etc. Not all of that seems fair to me. Here are the facts.
- Hancock did break a law requiring to submit the receipts within 30 days. He was 2 weeks late which he claims was due to the additional workload of first and foremost securing PPE.
- Hancock claims there was no National shortage of PPE may well be correct, although there definitely was shortage at spots throughout the country. I remember the army was brought in to resolve this.
The presentation of the whole fiasco has been nothing short of appalling. I actually buy point 1, and think Hancock is being screwed over here (and Starmer I think agrees going on his response). But the second point is just a PR fuck up. Hancock should have first and foremost been open and apologetic about the distribution of PPE resource (although personally I blame this a tier beneath him) & then gone on the offensive about the hard work done to secure the required PPE.
I needn't expand on whose the ringleader of all the bullshit ...

@majorrage Piers?

I saw Hancock on Sky on Sunday and he slam-dunked Ridge when she asked when things would get back to normal.
He must have really enjoyed saying his starting sentence: " Well, I'm sure all of us want to get back to normal and have birthday parties without worrying about breaking the rules and spreading the disease...."

Yes. Hancock got pissed off at PM. So PM has abbreviated all context to make Hancock look as bad as possible
