@no-quarter not to mention he'd benefit as much as everyone else from modern training and nutrition. Once I clicked it I just had to watch the whole thing. Power, balance, and speed. Every fullbacks nightmare!

@no-quarter that pass from Kronfeld to Lomu against Ireland was a thing of beauty.
I'll die in a ditch, but the balance was what set Lomu apart. Big fast guys exist, but his abiliyt to stay on his feet was just remarkable
That and a two metre sidestep. People forget that he had some amazing skills other than running over people.
Agree about the balance though back in the days when 'core' referred to apples he was standing on exercise balls while doing bicep curls.

Absolutely. I remember the try he scored in the Scotland-AB classic in '96.
Sped down the the left touchline with about 6 inches to spare pushing off players before he scored in the corner. Never deviated from his line.

I once walked into a street pole in London. It was the 90s and no mobile phones then. To make things worse I was on a first date with an English chick who spent the rest of the night laughing at me.
And I know you are all wondering...yep, the date ended well ๐

@crazy-horse well yeah, you got poled.

You married her?
I dived into a mate's swimming pool (having just broken up with a girlfriend) and had half a bottle of overproof vodka. I was lucky that I didn't break my neck, but the pool was a nice reddish colour. I then got on my motorbike, no helmet (HIA was pending), blood everywhere and went to ex girlfriend's house for sympathy.
We have been married for over 20 years.

Can you expand on what makes this such a dangerous activity? Is it a euphemism?
No. I was pissed and did my "famous" armless dive. Complete idiot and was fortunate not to be crippled.
Should add that I did not know how deep the pool was.
