Forget those Irish rocker-haters.
If you haven't stagedived to Sunday Bloody Sunday covered by a half-gone Irish-Irish cover band with an old guitar and a goat-skinned drum you haven't lived!nah they were a good band up until about 1988

Nickleback seem to be popular because almost bogan chicks love them.
I think lightening crashes was a good song at one time but it got done to death by every single chick in every flat and party during uni.
I’ll often only like one song by a music act, not saying they’re all rubbish acts, just I don’t like their stuff. For example, Cults - you know what I mean (from Russian Doll soundtrack), loved that song, got the album and I just didn’t like any of their stuff. I like one Bruno Mars song and all the others I’ve heard I’ve actively disliked. I like one Radiohead song, and it’s the one the band themselves hate .

Pure U2ism. This has to stop
everytime i click my fingers, somewhere in the world, a shit U2 song is played on the radio.
I just assumed the radios would play their good stuff - up to 1988 most of the time. I know a few from Achtung Baby and the Sweetest Thing but I wouldn’t know any of their other stuff.

There's quite a few songs on the trip albums which would qualify here. This band ma have a few other good ones, but I've always struggled to get into theme beyond this The River.
I'd never heard of them... but figured "I'm an open minded guy, I'll give it a go".
Listened to nearly an hour of them playing a live gig... that was a waste of time.- There were zero good songs
- The lead singer is a twat.
- I saw a few comments comparing this guy to Jim Morrison. Fuck. Off. He's not worthy to act as a ball-sack-support structure for Jim Morrison... and I'm saying that as somebody who thinks Jim Morrison is over-rated. He's got a passing resemblance to JimMo... but he's also got a passing resemblance to Jon Snow, and his musical chops seem better aligned to the Bastard Prince than the Lizard King.
- The lead singer is a twat. God, he's a twat. A right prize fluffybunny.
This thread has caused me to check out so much of the stuff mentioned - corrupting my youtube suggestions/auto-play. Nickelback and Creed have both already appeared in the "My Mix" playlist...
I'm going to need to walk away from this particular gmail account, and create myself a new one - complete with new identity - just to make sure I escape my ill-advised generosity in giving these bands a "fair go". -

Loads of rock stars are fuckwits, doesn’t mean they’re not amazing at what they do.
In saying all that this song isn’t as good as I remember. Perhaps the public in the 90s were right.

These music threads are always a bit of fun. How about bands/songs you like but are a bit embarrassed or ashamed of
If I had the ability to feel shame, I guess I wouldn't mention Dixie Chicks or Roger Whittaker. Oooh that reminds me, off to the thrashed thread...
You only pretend you're in your 40s ...

My mother's favourite
She saw him in the States when she was a young woman.
And I watched this to death as a kid
Named my first dog Rebel

Big Love by Fleetwood Mac.
In the list as it was recorded in '88 and anything they did after about 1985 was utter dross.

if I am allowed to do the inverse of the title, I understand Headless Chicken's version of ABBA's Super Trooper was not written down and they are not sure they would be able to repeat it even if they wanted to.

I'd never had guessed in real life you are Richard Gere. Famous for his lead role in the romantic drama "An Orifice and A Gentleman." Later in his career, in Chicago, he starred with Celotape man (ok celophane man). You can't make this exploding hamster stuff up. Man must be on a roll.

Yeah this song is catchy as fuck. It’s funny, even as a young kid I thought he said ‘I wake up, but only to fuuuuuuckkk’ ( the word is actually ‘fall’ but ‘fuck’ woulda been more fun )
