shocked no mention of DMX up in here
Ferners are obviously more interested in Royals than Gangstas with dope rhymes it seems
Or neither.
He was no Eddie Van Halen but he was good at what he did
Creating single Mums? Yep, apparently very good at that.

To be honest, I had never heard of him before he died.

He was certainly no Tupac or Biggie that’s for sure.
He also ruins the street cred a bit by sounding like a bike I had as a kid.
Did anyone hear if Parliament did a tribute to him or if we had a gun salute like for the Duke ?
-
He did star in Exit Wounds with Steven Seagal, we haven’t heard from @Tim on the matter so I can only assume he’s in mourning ?
He did TWO movies with Seagal ... he did one in 2019 - Beyond the Law.
Now - when I see a movie dated 2019 - starring Steven Seagal - I'm very very intrigued.DMX also did 2 movies with Jet Li - and I've got a little bit of vomit in my mouth, thinking of Seagal and Li together in a little portion of any Venn diagram.
Edit: I've just downloaded Beyond the Law - and starting to watch it. I've already got that tingling feeling one gets when you don't recognise a single one of the production companies in the opening credits... this is going to be aaaawesome!

'Voice of Carisbrook' Iain Gallaway dies
He said he had seen every test match at Carisbrook since 1930 - bar one.
"I missed the 1999 one. I was President of New Zealand Cricket and I was proudly at Lords in the President's Box watching New Zealand beat England for the first and only time."
-
@donsteppa A remarkable test attendance effort. How he would have loved watching the 28 - 00 whooping of South Africa at 1999 Carisbrook test.
The modern day commentators don't hold a patch on the Old Timers like Trevor Rigby, Alan Richards, Peter Sharp, Colin Sneddon and that pommy guy Jim someone from Christchurch (apologies for not being able to recall his last name). Thankfully we still have Wadds but he seems to be on the outer now with the change in radio cricket broadcasters, and then there was the uniqueness of good old Ron Snowden who, age and time wise, doesn't really fall into the "old timer" category of the others mentioned.
Ahhh I still have great memories of the "lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer" and Sports Roundup. Summer just ain't the same without it.
Thanks for the memories and good times Iain. -
Michael Collins - the 3rd astronaut on Apollo 11 who orbited the moon while Armstrong and Aldrin did the walking.
Michael Collins, 90, was part of the three-member crew on Apollo 11, the first lunar landing mission in 1969. Unlike Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, he never walked on the moon. Collins stayed behind and piloted the command module as it circled above. Because of that, Collins is often called the 'forgotten astronaut'.
