@bones I've never been "honned" on here before, i know how you feel now. Its like a warm hug isnt it.
He's Honey. Hon is far too familiar and his reaction is appropriate, we hardly know each other.
You on the other hand sweetie, I'm sure that we can "hon" you more if it makes you feel good. Why hold back?
You do know what you have started now don't you hon.

this is all very gross

For those who've had the vaccine a couple of questions if I may
-
Have you previously had the flu vaccine? If not, did you think it was unnecessary?
-
Did you get the vaccine because you were worried about contracting COVID-19 and becoming sick, possibly dying?
Or did you get it so if the government do mandate vaccine passports to engage in 'real life' you're all set?

@mikethesnow ooooh good question!!!

Good questions. I have had my first jab and no, I have never bothered with the flu jab. I've never felt it necessary. Probably because we have all been living with flu all our lives and it does not present as a major problem. Not through the likelihood of catching it nor the effect of catching it. Also I feel that we have a degree of herd immunity from flu already.
I took up the Covid jab for a few reasons and the primary one for me was social responsibility. I feel that we all need to do our part to get to herd immunity status on this thing. Secondary was that whilst I view the likelihood of getting this thing quite low, in comparison to the flu it is quite high. Likewise the potential consequences of catching it seem to be a lot worse. But you've also hit the nail on the head, I want to get back to normality. I want to go on holiday, go to the pubs and restaurants, I want my social life back. Getting the jab puts me on that path hopefully.

@mikethesnow pretty much what @Catogrande said. I wouldn't be eligible for a flu vaccine as not in any risk groups but always get offered it through my work and decline. I didnt really want to have the covid vacc either but knew i would for the greater good at some point so again was offered it through work and I accepted.

Have had the Flu vaccine for the last 3 years.

Saw the Covid vaccine as part of getting back to normal. Already had Covid last March, but liked the extra protection. At the end of the day, like the Flu jab, I want my time on this planet to be as disease-free as possible..
Vaccine passports are tricky. Really don't like the Big Brother aspects but can see the benefits if it gets things back to normal, reduces infections and pushes people to get vaccinated. Mrs M's elderley parents caught Covid from Care workers who have refused a jab. That's their right but really isn't acceptable IMHO.

@mikethesnow I haven't but I won't let your criteria prevent me from answering:
- Once and it was the only year I got the flu.
- I will get it to engage in real life again.
-
@mikethesnow like @antipodean I'm also going to wade in:
- I get the flu jab every year cos work organises a nurse to come to the office - so it's free, convenient, and you get a lollipop
- I'll get the Covid jab for @Catogrande 's reasons, and also definitely cos I want to be able to travel. I'm really not concerned with catching the virus myself given good health and a great health system, but I wouldn't want to spread it to vulnerable folk

Didn't used to get flu vac as I thought it was unnecessary, but have had it annually for probably 10 years. Mainly as I don't want to get sick, and hopegully help avoiding spreading it. Not because I'm worried about dying.

Not sure that's all the options.
I got the jab mainly because it's my part in controlling the disease. The more of us jabbed the quicker we can ignore it (at least in principle).
Have no immediate intention to travel.
And yes, I'd prefer not to get the disease and die, and given my conditions raise my chances from very low to just a bit more than very low, so hopefully they're now extremely low. But in all honesty I was more about the overall picture.

@catogrande I don't count this as a #booboo

I like it, taking it up a level really. It's not just putting their foot in it, they're having a fit.
