haven't spent much time in but thought this was the best place for this
fair enough if they just dont want the picture any more but the reasons seem bizarre considering, according to Wiki, 48 countries have gained independence from the commonwealth during her Reign....hardly the figurehead of colonialism
-
@victor-meldrew Right there is the most ignorant, racist shite you could get. A classic example of anti-racists having a prejudiced view of the world .
Ignore the history and how mathematics developed, ignore the current situation, basically have a white supremacist view of the world, project that shite, and bask in the ignorance of critical race theory. A level of cognitive dissonance right up there with the religiously devoted. -

It's beyond stupid.
But minor potential pedanticism... independence would from the Empire not the Commonwealth?
Thought Commonwealth were just a bunch of former colonies that kind of help each other out a bit and occasionally hold a special Olympics. -
@booboo i will concede to finding the commonwealth and empire a bit confusing
I would have said from the empire but i didn't really think the empire existed in any real sense anymore...shall we just say they've gained self governance

I wonder how much money comes down from any "royal" organisation?
If we must watch all these institutions slowly become impractical and slovenly, perhaps we could speed up the process with user (abuser) pays initiatives

There's always hope it is more a symptom of being young.
Then perhaps realizing these ideas might not be so realistic in the real world. Some of today's young socialists will be tomorrow's Nat voters

I used to think that. But the continued outpouring of love for Jacinda from many of the worlds media may have changed that ...
The socialist revolution may be beginning ...

Hehe. That is probably a bit tongue in cheek and the following isn't to do with your comment.
When young people (mostly students) start earning money and paying taxes and buying houses and supporting kids and planning for retirement, their views change a bit. The pendulum may swing too but it will get stopped when they all turn into members of the fern.

It's a typical me post. Dripping in sarcasm, with the slightest hint of fear that it may be true. Added some dots as upon re-reading, it does look rather serious. Best I sort that shit out, and quickly.

Time in the real world tends to fix things quickly. It's the old saw... If you're not a socialist at 20, you have no heart. If you're still a socialist at 40, you have no brain.
So many of my friends have made the journey across the political spectrum as they age. It's tragically predictable

It happens when one has to put their big boy pants on and live the life of an adult

I think we have a winner.
New York Times editor, Mara Gay was “disturbed” to see “dozens of American flags” during a weekend trip to Long Island, New York. Was also distressed to see anti-Biden slogans on sides of trucks, apparently.

She's got a point. At no point did any Democrat try and act / suggest that Trump wasn't their president. No point at all.
