@victor-meldrew WTAF did I just read.
It feels like Borat's humour (pushing existing beliefs to a logical conclusion) is no longer satire but real. Just astonishing.

You're lucky enough to witness the end of Western civilization
Not too sure about that - but we are looking at the end of a period of unquestioning belief in basic western values.
I see it much stronger than that. Decline in liberalism and public education standards, less people believe in science, widening partisan divide, social media echo chambers, decline in USA soft and hard power, increasing ability to purchase political power and reduce income mobility. You can't be the top dog forever, it happens to all civilisations and in the modern age the rate of change is accelerated. The best that can be hoped for is a gradual, relatively peaceful decline.
We're simply too comfortable and as such become weak as we've attempted to provide equality and justice.
I actually think promoting equality and justice makes us stronger.
I agree but perhaps I didn't make myself clear. In the pursuit there's less battles that need to be fought. The real differences are socioeconomic, not racial.
Getting opportunities to people in the lower parts of society makes sense economically and benefits society as a whole. The trick is to get the better-off part of society to see the benefits of doing this and doing it wisely.

of course they are! That's the human condition!! 99.9% of people, not matter what they say, or delude themselves in to thinking, are guided by self interest. When push comes to shove, people always do what's best for them and theirs.
And fundamentally i do not have a problem with that. Anyone disadvantaged by it would do the exact same thing if the roles were reversed.

Now it's racist to report rape apparently - but only if you are a white woman
Oxfam training guide blames ‘privileged white women’ over root causes of sexual violence
That is fucking awesome.
My rarely seen optimistic side suggests that maybe we actually give MORE oxygen to the absolute nutters like this, as it looks like they're just going to turn on each other.
Also - this provides material for sending to that super-precious "white feminist" who also thinks she's "woke" that we all know.(Saying that as somebody who doesn't think "Social Justice" is a bad word... but that there's, as demonstrated, "taking it too far")

Bastard. You've shattered my illusions that these are pious, caring, humble people who have given up the opportunity to earn megabucks in business in order to dedicate their lives to improving the lot of the oppressed minorities in society who are incapable of helping themselves....

The fact you have to write that explanation is an indicator of how screwed up things are becoming. There is such a polarisation that if you're not 100% aligned, you're clearly in opposition. Shades of grey? Forget it.
You can think that black lives matter, without thinking Black Lives Matter is a healthy organisation. I'd go on, but you get the idea. Lots of self censorship going on in the modern world, people can't be bothered with the grief

That is vomit inducing white guilt rubbish.
The sooner stop generalising across groups the better.
That's the root cause I reckon. You are first and foremost the arbitrary group you've been "assigned" to; black/ white, male/female/other, gay/straight/other. All non negotiable.

And it's also the main hope for them eating their own. As you see feminists getting labelled TERFs if the are outside the groupthink on Trans athletes.
Not many people that are black, disabled, gay and transgender and women with red hair.

fair enough if they just dont want the picture anymore but the reasons seem bizarre considering, according to Wiki, 48 countries have gained independence from the commonwealth during her Reign....hardly the figurehead of colonialism
I'm not arguing with the substance of your post but questioning the last few words. Surely someone can be a colonialist, just not a highly effective one?
The Queen inherited all of that jazz and seems to believe in a fundamentally and logically conservative retention of tradition, not exactly a power-hungry colonizing force, but a conservative one (who probably doesn't believe she should go around apologizing to everyone, for the sake of social stability). I'm not a monarchist but I can understand that. Then again, the Royal Family seemed a little slow to pay tax.
The articles on alleged hypocrisy will not diminish, they will overflood the newspapers IMO. -

Think that was just the Queen herself. In return for not paying tax, she used to fund a lot of the stuff which the taxpayer now stumps up for.

It's also the sheer ignorance and arrogance of these people who think they are uniquely placed to "improve" society.
Daughter's middle name is Ngaire as a link to her NZ heritage and she was told by 2 Uni tutors in the UK she should change it as it's "cultural appropriation".
Funnily enough, all the maori she met in NZ thought it a great way to connect her to the land of her parents and ancestors.
