    I thought Ryan was injured?

He was doubtful but has recovered

Andy Farrell has revealed that the timing of James Ryan’s abductor injury may have scuppered the Leinster star’s hopes of a late call-up to Warren Gatland’s Lions’ squad.

"But the injury was a little bit of a setback towards the end of next week and we didn't quite know where we were up to with that and then the medics took over and I think James over the last day or so has surprised everyone with the speed of the recovery."

That stunning pace of recovery means that Ryan will be available for Ireland’s game against Japan on Saturday at the Aviva Stadium - and will lead the side, which includes Joey Carbery, out

No. 19 for Japan is Jack Cornelsen making his debut I believe. He’s the son of Wallaby, Greg Cornelsen

So Himeno is out; Tevita Tatafu takes the no. 8 jersey. Mafi comes onto the bench.

I was just going to say that I think Michael Leitch looks a bit past it.

I'm really enjoying these top tier/2nd tier games. They're much closer than they used to be and you see some great rugby - Japan's off-loading being a case in point.

Think they are great for the game.

Japan would do themselves a massive favour if they stopped playing mindless frenetic rugby.
