@nepia seems to be that way. Everyone has forgotten how to social distance though. Some seriously punchable conduct going on
The social distancing was good when I got my second, although I was in between a couple of attractive 20/30 something year old women in the queue so I wouldn't have been too bothered if they'd forgotten for a period.

While there was some totty around, and quality as well, unfortunately I was stuck between an old Indian lady who knew how to social distance, and an annoying old Asian couple who definitely didn't.
When they called the 4:45PM line to get ready, every dickhead just clumped up as close to the entrance as possible. Eventually I and one of the staff started waving everyone back, and then that didn't work I just went to the end of the line and started tellling people to move until we were stretched out 250m around the corner onto Herb Elliot Avenue, and distancing appropriately-ish.
Didn't get into the building until 6PM. Wore one of my Kathmandu vests so I didn't have to take off a jumper for the jab - huge mistake given the sun went down and the wind picked up Warm chest, cold arms. They also made me swap my cloth mask for a paper one at the entrance which I thought was a good move.
As expected, my visiting a non-NSW Health location for Dose 1 created an issue where all my shit had to be deleted and re-entered by one fo the nurses. But at least she could converse while she was at it, and said that basically once it got to the after-hours everything tended to go to shit. Plus there was a massive ramp up from bookings when lockdown was announced.
Once I actually got into the inside waiting area around 6PM, everything was calm and everyone friendly despite the delays. Got out just before 7PM including 15 minute wait time.
The systems they've stood up are pretty impressive and if they cut the numbers in half it would have been a doddle. I suspect people like me with special cases and the need for interpreters (I saw a fair few) slows things down and that cascades into delay once you get enough volume.
However, the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze: I went to the men's just before leaving - keep in mind that this is one of the most sanitary environments outside a hospital you'll see, with masks everywhere, hand sanitiser at each stage and cloths stratetigcally placed around the bathroom basins and taps for cleaning staff to rotate instead of having to do a full deep clean.
While I'm washing my hands, this fucking clown comes out of one of the stalls, having taken a piss, and just walks straight out. "Great", I think, "Now his cock germs and Delta Variant are all over the door handles!"
Seriously. What a fuckwit.

seriously the key to those mammoth queues are not arriving early and you get staright into a moving one. You will always have people you dont know how to distance, but for me at least i didnt have peopel trying to clump, most could see what was going on and followed.
not so sure you should sucked the door handle though..

should have gone straight to the source like he usually does

@nta said in Coronavirus - Australia:
@nepia ok so we are running 45 minutes late at this point.
ACT - in and out in 20 mins. That included the mandatory 15 min wait after the jab to see if you're going to die.

@nta How many a day are they processing there? Sounds pretty dire.
You forgot to mention the biscuits and chippies @Nepia is very concerned about the quality of the snacks provided
dont know the official count but I dont think I would be far off saying maybe 1000 per hour approx 250 in every 15 minute queue. It is a beast

If I'd arrived at the 1645 time nominated, I still would not have got into the building until 1800.
The queue did not get moving until 1730 hours.

Would agree with that figure - the line was around 250-300 metres socially distanced

At least people are doing it, and were calm. That time of day is going to be a problem as the appointments ramp up.
Just heard TGA have approved 12-15 age bracket so we at least have a scope developing for the kids

heard a rumour of 179 cases today...
Going to go out on a limb and suggest the majority weren't isolating either.
-
yeah, had a meeting yesterday where one bloke said his brother drove his sons down the main street of Auburn after his mothers funeral - he grew up there, and wanted to show his kids, they live somewhere else now
He said it looked like a typical Saturday, people everywhere, not a mask in sight
