3 episodes in to The Wheel of Time
who are we supposed to be rooting for again? Almost every single character is some level of an unlikeable dick
Sappy pouty Anakin-Skywalker-From-Wish
Thievy McSelfish
Broody McSulk
I-love-you-but-i-want-to-be-a-priestess-oh-wait-that-options-gone-i-love-youThen there is the unfeeling witch and her king simp
And then the village witch comes back and is just a fucking dick
I'm starting to root for the goat dudes, at least i understand them.
Same as the book, pretty much. Perrin probably the most likeable in the books. Lan is good just because he's a well hard bastard. But really they're a bunch of fluffybunnies, who don't talk like grown adults to allow lots of misconceptions to further the plot

Finished S1 of The Great, and it is fucking great!
NIcholas Hoult's character, Peter steals the show though!
Frequently used line - Huzzah, now fuck off!

Creative team have done a great job distilling the books for TV. A lot of changes but somehow have made the books better.
Apparently this last series might be setting up movies to tell the final part of the story (which I read last week)

@kirwan I’m always up for a new book so might be more interesting in that, is the book also called the expanse?
There’s nine books, and a few novellas.
First book is called Leviathan Wakes by James Corey. Pretty entertaining books, with a little more realistic physics, good action and fun mysteries.
Pretty easy reads, with lots of quotable lines.

@kirwan Because I am a sad sci-fi loser, I read the first six books. Series really, really drops off after that.
I struggled after the time jump, but it’s still better than most of the shit out there at the moment.
Ending was good.

@roninwc I liked the look of Invasion but had seen many poor reviews, so was gonna wait until done and binge it.
I can understand why early reviews have been negative, because I have to admit, I struggled with eps 2-4 but 5-8 have been much better and now I understand the first few eps much better with the story and plot being drip fed throughout the eps.
One of those series where the whole is much better than the parts, especially the first 3-4 eps.
I was the opposite. Enjoyed Eps 1-6 which had some great plots and characters but thought it fell away badly after that and the whole thing, esp. the action scenes, became really repetitive and unoriginal.
Fair call and I wouldn't disagree.
Waiting on Friday for the last episode to drop and then will binge the last two back to back.
I guess I was disappointed as the first 5 or 6 episodes were really really good and original. Just hope it picks up and gets back on track.
OK watched Ep. 10. Not bad but you get the feeling this was originally meant to be 6-8 episodes and they puffed it out to 10.
Will watch the next series if they make one but just hope they go for quality rather than length.

I started the UK Office, plenty was mirrored so much on the US version, although I think they toned down some of the stuff on the US version.
Also gonna have a crack at Fawlty Towers after finishing Father Ted.

Bringing back more familiar faces.
Who is the old guy Cobra Kai bring in? I don't recall him in the originals.

He was in III, so probably easily forgotten. A Vietnam buddy of Kreese's named Terry Silver.
