Why wouldn't you just still use Samuel L Jackson if made in the 90s? Dude looks the same now as then.
Less famous?
Not much less than now I'd think? SLJ was pretty famous in the 90s (Pulp Fiction etc) - I suspect the only time Keith David was more famous would have been the 80s?
Maybe another Platoon alumni would have been a better choice - Forest Whitaker.

@bovidae Tom Cruise as Ironman is being hinted at for the next Doctor Strange movie.
Apologies @Kirwan as this is not aimed at you but a HUGE down vote for this if it is true!
He'll just be a variant/Superior Ironman. He was the original casting if I remember correctly. So be a funny nod.
-
@kirwan thats what i had heard, they wanted him to do it but at the time it was a bit of a gamble and the oly one that would do it was RDJ on his redemption arc...i kind of hope not for some reason
there is a series of comics and now podcasts (listening currently) set in the "logan" universe/timeline, originally called "old man...." but now call "wastelanders"....basically the bad guys won and killed most of the heros, and we follow the few that survived trying to make a difference in a world that hates them, you could do those stories with a few of those actor, so far other than Logan/wolverine Star lord, Hawkeye and blackwidow
-
@kiwiwomble its the perfect use of the multiverse IMO, sort of like the start of Austin Powers with the alternate casting.

@Bovidae are we thinking this Jane is from the multiverse rather than "his" jane? i imagine it will have to connect into whats happening in the multiverse somehow
If they do the comic book story, or adapt it, it's his Jane.

Dr Strange....JESUS...we are a long way from a billionaire in a metal suit just trying to stop another bloke in a bigger metal suit taking over his company
Was fun but thought it was super dark...and not DC moody "dark"...actual jump scare and almost graphic violence

The director was Sam Raimi. Although I didn't find it too horror like, as I'm not a horror fan. Only the second best multiverse movie out at the moment though.
-
@Nepia yeah, not actual horror...but firm allusions to some pretty graphic stuff
##spoiler
the fight with the illuminati was pretty full on, mr fantastic being unravelled, captain carter being cut in half with her own shield.....and a pretty scary scarlet witch snapping prof x's neck...that was a full on few minutes
##endspoilerI'll admit i'd missed Sam Raimi's horror background, really only knew him from the Spiderman Films, looking back i know a lot of his films, just didn;t know it was him

I really want to watch that... but I'm stuck travelling around, ah... "provincial" New Zealand... where the only screen-times are an hour travel away, and at night... and fuck riding a motorcycle home in the cold dark probably-wet.
And it looks like it's about to drop out of screenings at most cinemas in a couple of days. -

Asians live all over Auckland dumb distributors.
