MN5's 2010 get ripped plan
-
always remember reading in MEads' biography he attended some function after he had stopped playing, and he was saying to some nutritionist that he used to play rugby after eating mince, mash potatoes and huge dollop of butter melting into it, and his diet normally wasnt far off it, he said to her look at what I acheived.

He said her response stopped him in his tracks and made him question what he thought he knew; she simply replied think how good you could have been. -
Good effort there Nepia, didn't seem to take you long at all to drop that weight.

Unfortunately tonight was pasta night ( too much of a pain to get to the supermarket ) but at least it was that fresh multi coloured stuff as opposed to the dry colourless crap. Big walk with the boy up a few hills prior to this, pretty hot so sweating bullets at the top of the hill, especially when I had to chase him at the top !
Cheers MN5, although I think it was helped by the fact I was going through a king size block every two days - so when that stopped the first lot came of easy. I seem to have plateaued though which is why I'm changing the regime - at any rate I'll doubt I'll get much below 90kg as I haven't been that light since 1992 (16 years old).

Apologies for the slight thread jack. You should have no problem meeting your goal with hill walking and carrying the little fellow. -
There's no question that in order to lose weight, eating right is more important than exercise. Although the health benefits of exercise, in terms of fighting stress, improving strength, fighting aging, to name just a few, are huge as well. I love exercise, so have no problems in that department. But I hate dieting, or feeling like I'm restricting my food intake.

Haha no probs my good man. Always good hearing things that have worked. I've never had a chocolate addiction though so there goes that idea ! -
Just dusted off the Low-Carb cook book. Going to try and cut out the carbs at dinner time as Bartman professes. I've been sitting on this book for a couple years now and haven't even given it a second glance.

There's a 2 week cycle menu plan that has actually got me and Mrs Raz excited about going shopping tonight. Which I think bodes well if you want to make a concerted effort with your diet. Being actually enthused can make a huge difference. -

Due to a pregnant wife I have to go it alone at the moment. Its ok for her as she'll often chunder up any bad stuff, I don't really have that option ! -
Congratulations on that too!! Yeah I wasn't as disciplined as you with my sons pregnancy. I ate the house down because the wife was, and generally she craved nice things. Everything except her bizarre craving for toothpaste and spearmint mentos(7-8 packs a day).

This can not be an easy time in the MN5 household to go on a health kick? -

Cheers dude. Not easy at all to be honest, also not easy continually having to turn down beer drinking sessions at this time of year. Haven't turned them all down but definitely limiting them. When MN5 jr the 2nd makes his appearance the wife will no doubt help me a bit more. -

Ha! When I wrote it I knew it was not quite right but couldn't be bothered deleting it and as he wink suggests you get the gist of what I meant. -
both eating and exercise can take some organising esp when you have work, study, family, etc on the go. I'm eating better than I used too but there is still room for improvement. Exercise has been much easier to work into my schedule. I actually want to go for a run or hit the gym - you get that buzz afterwards and as Davidav pointed out its primo for stress relief etc.... I just don't get the same buzz from turning down a burger and eating some tuna and salad!! I wish I did, adjusting my 'eating plan' would be heaps easier!!

Too right. Easy for film stars, top sportspeople etc to do it in no time. They have trainers and lots of time to work out and eat the right foods at the right time. Tough for us working stiffs !

Raz, congrats on becoming a Grandad. -
OK, currently more than 100kg but less than 101 if that makes sense. Dial is closer to the 101 but still a decrease from the last weigh in which is cool. A tough weekend ( long weekend in welly just gone ), TWO BBQs which resulted in more than a few ales but hopefully balanced by lots of trampoline jumping and no bread/taters on the plate. Big weight lifting session planned for tonight.

Crikey, under the ton ! well 99.8kg I'm estimating. Dial was still closer to the hundy. At this rate I'll have to move round in the shower just to get wet soon !

Pretty pleased with that and noticing the belt is a tiny bit looser. No major lifestyle changes just lotsa little things....

"Mate would you like a coke?" "Naaaa dude waters fine"

"Coming round for a drink?" "Ok" but generally having Macs Spring tide. It is summer and even welly is more bearable with a cold one....

Instead of rushing around in the morning I'm putting a few minutes aside for some weetbix, four usually do. Haven't missed a brekky all year which is something I often did in the past. -
Maccas for brekky yesterday and damn it was good and agreed with me more than Razbra. Naughty boy, I did feel a bit guilty. Mowed the lawns later that day and ripped a few weeds out and such. Spent this morning helping a mate move house so good to lug a bit of heavy shit around ( and helped by being wet and cold as opposed to hot as fark like it was yesterday, Welly was actually warmer than Auckland and Whangarei ! ). Just had a nice big benching/curls session in the garage, pyramided ( is that even a word ? ) up to 120kg on the bench so happy with that but quite a few reps and sets so I know I'm gonna be feeling it in the shoulders and chest tomorrow !
-
that's a fair whack of tin to be pushing bro, nice!! what sort of reps are you doing at Max weight? I had an unholy urge for a Cheeseburger combo today but owned up to it to the missus, ended up getting Sushi but it was close ha ha

At 120 ? just the one rep if you can even call it that, not pretty, certainly not effortless, the arms get shaky and I go about 16 shades of purple when doing it. Still my shoulders, arse and feet remain in place so I guess it still counts ! As mentioned on your thread I've fucked out on that on more than one occasion too !
