Ticwatch pro 3 is a great all rounder, although one of the main reasons I got it is it can have an esim and work independent of your phone and looks like that's not available in NZ.

Runs on wear OS and seems pretty accurate for tracking runs with ghostracer and throwing them into Strava.

Dickey Betts, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the Allman Brothers Band whose piercing solos, beloved songs and hell-raising spirit defined the band and Southern rock in general, died Thursday morning at the age of 80. The cause was cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Betts’ manager David Spero confirmed to Rolling Stone.

Some lovely guitar in this track. Just beautiful stuff.

    Southern Rock was so cool.

    RIP, thanks for the music

Caught up on a couple of films on my (long) film bucket list this week.

Sunset Blvd from 1950. Blew me away. Simply brilliant film which has to be one of the best about Hollywood ever made. Acting, writing, design, photography and music all outstanding from one of the great directors, Billy Wilder. Don't be put off by the fact it's over 70 years old - its as fresh as ever.

In the Realm of the Senses (1976). Been recommended to me by lots of people but I thoroughly disliked it. Well made and directed (Nagisha Oshima) but just provocative for the sake of it. Over-blown and underwhelming

Will check that out with Mrs. Pakman.

I recently watched Twelve Angry Men for the second time ever, and her first, and still found it excellent.

Currently renovating a small bathroom in the East Annexe of Meldrew Towers and dealing with the Ceiling From Hell.

The ceiling hadn't ever been plastered or sealed so the paint is making the paper come away from the plasterboard requiring constant bloody gluing, sealing, filling and sanding - 3 fucking days so far. Oh, And the same fuckwits didn't bother to seal the walls before painting them either, so any paint I stick on lifts everything off the walls.

And some fluffybunnies are complaining about Diversity courses...Jeez.

    Pretty obvious it's Gary Coleman.

No idea who the tall dude is though.

GPT4 needs a little nudging from time to time. It’s getting a little lazy, which to be honest, makes it hard not to anthropomorphise the thing.

3 eps into Fallout, which is pretty good.

Given there have been plenty of game adaptations, this one seems to be the only one I can recall where it seems they have included some NPCs as obvious as they did.

@Winger I'll ask my SIL as she has one for an overactive kelpie that used to run off into other paddocks.

    Thanks.

The dogs are not too happy too now as they love their walk / run (and swim in the small lakes) every morning so really want to find a solution

Just spent 8 days in St Lucia watching my son play cricket for 4 of them (supposed to be 5 but rain killed one day).

Nice to be in the heat again for a while, a real joy having the opportunity to do this. They won all their matches, my son didn't play anywhere near his best (which tbh isn't that high) but he got stuck in and kept on trying. Managed to bowl the only maiden of the entire tour which I think is something he could be proud of. His last spell was crazy. Got tonked for 6 on his first ball, then bowled 4 dot balls followed by a wide. Next over the maiden. Last over he didn't get hit for runs again, but his last 2 balls were wides as he was knackered.

Anyway got to know a few other parents a lot better (some good, some absolute English posh dickheads), drunk a few pitons, did 6 hours on the treadmill in total & had a cracking day out on a catamaran. Also ready 2 Ant Middleton motivation books as I'm struggling to get my shit together at the moment from a macro point of view, so that was good.

Holiday for the soul, this one.

    See GOM for further thoughts.
