Really? Different seeding times/ crop and sowing direction affecting light refraction doesn't immediately enter as a reason?
No. I'm not a farmer, and I wouldn't have thought of that. Is there something wrong with me?
I can't see the problem in admitting you don't know something, even if it may be obvious to others.

On the surface of it, nothing. But I'd wager a child could easily guess that patterns that don't exist in nature would be man made and logically come to the conclusion that where farmland exists, they might be looking at farms.
He clearly knew they were farms, but didn't know why the landscape looked how it did from above.

You base that on what? Nothing in his original tweet suggests that.
'This is land by the Colorado, Kansas border from a plane. Pretty cool. I have no idea how/ why it looks like this'
Had he said 'farmland by the Colorado, Kansas border' you may have a point.

I can't help but feel I'd be more productive if the internet was blocked here.

@jegga Why are people (aside from Twitter being Twitter) melting down over that pic, I think it looks kind of interesting.
There's a difference between it being interesting and someone publicly proclaiming they're an ignorant imbecile.
What is wrong with saying you don't know about something when you don't know about something?
I'm more interested in the guy saying USA basically feeds the whole world like a know it all.
That can't be even close to true?

Nope , they do produce a shit ton of the worlds food though. According to this India , China and the US together produce more than all the eu countries combined and the US is the biggest food exporter

All comes down to how much credit you give people before making an inference on them because of something they said.
@barbarian - credit, benefit of the doubt
@antipodean - bloke's clearly thick as pigshit, lets mock those that can't see it.and yet, both support the Tahs.

Not that surprising really given that USA and China are both more than twice the size of EU and India about 2/3's the size
