I'm always interested in buying fresh quality produce direct online from the producers. Perhaps we can all share good sources? I'll start with www.hawkesbayseafoods.co.nz The fish is super fresh and gets shipped overnight in cryopacking with cold packs. If you buy freight free specials you don't pay shipping but at these prices I'm happy to pay shipping and it's still cheaper than local shops

I'm more interested in buying produce direct. I bought a box of organic black Doris and George Wilson plums from some orchard via grab one in the summer. Outstanding. I've heard of gourmet direct before. The other one I saw at the BBQ festival in Auckland earlier in the year was meatbox.co.nz. If you want quality meat for slow cooking theirs looks lush. The wakanui blue sounds awesome

The selection online doesn't look anything special but their quality is top notch.
Suggest you check out their FB page and if you spot anything you like just give them a call or an email. I'm sure they would deliver along with the 'common' selection.
Great snags and ask them about thick cut lamb chops. Grilled over wood these are stupidly nice. -
Our team at work puts in an annual order of South Island cherries (fruit, not virgins!! too much GoT you sick puppies :-))
We have been tempted to check out the food bag/box - but haven't gotten around to it just yet.
Will keep track of this thread - soooo many more options for online ordering of kai.

@Paekakboyz Oh yeah, I bought boxes of central otago cherries for the whanau and as work gifts. They were awesome 2 years ago, the quality was down slightly last year perhaps because of the weather. Not much cheaper but when they were good they were best I've ever tasted.
We had My foodbag for a while, got sick of the sameness and the little CFs didn't really enjoy it. At least one meal a week was vegetarian, which is OK, but it felt more like a side dish than a main. We got the classic family one. Now I've organised our own meal plans with recipes so Mrs CF can follow, and we shop for each meal on the weekend and get what we want. It was quite convenient having everything delivered with recipes so you don't have to think

How often do you do your grocery shopping? I tend to go the supermarket every day as I generally don't decide what to cook until that afternoon unless it's a weekend.
Try and get to a farmers market as often as possible but in saying that, I haven't been for a couple of months

@Hooroo I figure you asked canefane but I'm the same as you. I treat the local supermarket as a dairy and usually walk there after I get home and decide what I'm going to cook. Alternatively I stop at Farros on the way home but they close at 6.30 which is about an hour before I usually leave the office.
Saturday morning I decide what I'm going to cook and the technique that night as that's the performance cook of the week
unless I have spotted something through the week that I want to cook with.Make it to a farmers market probably every 3rd week and almost always go to one when I'm out of town e.g. popped into Kerikeri one last weekend

Cambridge has a good market on a Saturday which isn't too far from the farm but I usually do the farm early in the morning and then golf so I miss it.
6:30 is far too early for Farro! I do love visiting Auckland and being able to shop there though.
Sunday is my get amongst it cook day. Sat is usually more nibble type food on BBQ etc.

I used to do a supermarket shop on my day off or in the weekend for bits and pieces but I liked to decide what to cook on the day and buy from the local fruit and meat places. Problem was Mrs C.F. wouldn't start the cook as i got back later and she doesnt like cooking without recipes, and she was feeding the kids shit. The meal plan thing takes some planning but Nadia helped train me. The other thing my food bag teaches you is how much meat you are meant to eat ie not much!

I'm not so bothered by that now that I learned that red veges e.g. beetroot etc are really good for you so I treat beef, lamb and bambi as vegetables. Make my 5+/day easy

I've bought cherries for Xmas from this crowd a couple of years in a row now. 2 years ago they were awesome, best cherries I've ever had. Last year not quite so good, but perhaps it was the shitty Summer we had. I'm going to give it one more crack, they are shipped up overnight to main centres
I'm also going to give these guys a go next year when it's time to get omega plums and golden tatura peaches. You can't beat orchard fresh!!
