Started this last night. This first ep was well done and had some big budget moments along with a great old school car chase (well campervan v motorbike). At the end though you could see exactly where this was headed and it took the whole of E2 to get there.
Will try E3 to see if any good now the premise has been established but I fear it will settle into mediocrity. Hope not as it is an OK watch. -

@Nepia Yeah. I think they intended to make at least another season. Hopefully it gets produced.
I just found it weird. I had no idea it was finished and kept checking back for a new episode. It also didn't appear to tie back to the original episode (or was I miss remembering that episode?) Hopefully they did a Slow Horses and the next season is already produced.
Although, it probably wasn't good enough that if in a years time it hasn't come back I probably wont be worried.

Finished The Last Kingdom (I think it was the last season - although I saw mention somewhere of a movie??)
For the most part, very good series, some average episodes, but pretty happy with how it all ended.
Some of the military tactics make you think how well you could have ruled back then, if born into royalty with an army at your command and all

First thing I'd do is introduce guerrilla warfare and terrorism. None of this 'line up in the field with your shields rubbish.

Sherwood (BBC).
Six-part crime revolving around the '84 Miners strike and it's impact today.
Bloody great. Superb writing and acting. Great to see lesser-know actors like Claire Holman (Morse, Lewis) and Adeel Akhtar (Four Lions) being given decent characters and chances to show their acting chops.
-
@Victor-Meldrew watched a trailer for this last week and thought it looked like it could be good.
-
The Undeclared War
Six-parter about a cyber-war between the UK & Russia.
Bit of a curates egg. Premise and tension was good and the plot believable, though it did go a bit OTT in places. Characters were generally strong & well-written and the main protagonist - a Muslim junior GCHQ employee - was really believable and played brilliantly by Hannah Khalique-Brown. Simon Pegg played the other main role.
Good watch and better than most of this genre - 4/5
-
@Victor-Meldrew Curate's egg partially good, partially bad, but mostly bad, yet 4 out of 5? I'm confused? I really rate Pegg, so was interested in this one

@Machpants I actually found it an enjoyable watch. Not too taxing, some originality, good acting and some genuinely tense moments and not preachy. Hokum, but good hokum.

Ultimate Beastmaster
Just good, entertaining brainless fun watching a bunch of terrific athletes doing their thing for a 50 grand prize at the end. Boasting to the missus that I can do some of the things on there but also being realistic enough to realise some are completely beyond me.
Not original in the slightest ( complete with each competitors emotional story over cheesy piano music about getting over a loved one dying, sickness, poverty or whatever to get on the show ) and very Americanised it’s still a terrific watch.
From an Australasian perspective Nick Cummins is a fun commentator and Danni Minogue still looks fine as a mother fucker.
CM Punk and Stuart Bennett/Wade Barrett are inspirational and hilarious too.

The Terminal List, the latest from Chris Pratt and Amazon Prime.
Very very different from your usual Chris Pratt fluff, enjoying this quite a lot. Each episode is around an hour or so and very tense. Some decent twists and turns which you can see coming but I think it's the intensity and brutality of some scenes which lift this up from the usual fluff like "The Tomorrow War".
I'd say 4 dead Seals out of 5 corrupt...
The Lazarus Project (on Stan in Aus)
I know a couple of Ferners started watching but either gave up or were loath to continue. I would suggest watching to the end of the season as it seemed like it was going to be quite formulaic but then throws in some decent twists and the season ending cliff hanger is pretty bloody good.
Looking forward to watching S2 whenever that comes out.

have heard that is pretty decent, is on my list...
Am loving Modern Family, almost through S2, problem is, Mrs TR also loves it, meaning I cant watch without her!
So many awesome characters, but Cam, Luke & Gloria are my faves at moment.

Pirate Gold of Adak Island
but of a random choice, docuseries of a group trying to track down actual buried treasure on a super remote island in the Aleutians, alaska that was until pretty recently one big american military base, plenty of moments where theyve obviously redone something for the camera but i watched to the end and will watch another series

The Terminal List
I read the book recently, and yeah... can see it could make decent TV.
The guy who wrote it though... actual retired Navy SEAL, very "rah rah US-A, US-A, guns are awesome, liberal snowflakes trying to stop me owning a rocket-launcher don't understand the REAL world, etc, etc".
Also amusing - he kinda throws some shade on people in the book who "just want to say they've got a Navy SEAL as a friend". And then goes on in the LOOOONG thanks/credits - to mention the fact that he's obviously spent time hanging out with Larry Ellison, Jimmy Spithill, amongst others.
As an employee of Larry, I certainly wouldn't want to suggest that maybe Larry is one of those chaps who bought themselves a Navy SEAL 'friend', but... -

Larry Ellison
I've started watching The Dropout (about Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos chick)
So far the most unlikeable character by far is Ellison. They've painted him to be a giant fucking douchebag.
Which is concerning for the rest of the show to be honest
