@bones I'm really enjoying Loudermilk, plenty of LOL moments.
Yeah all the things we want to say but don't...
-
@mariner4life @bayimports while my memories of early seasons of The Expanse are dusty, I agree it can be a little slow. But I'd watch that whole thing just for the moments where Amos Burton's complete lack of fucks to give comes to the fore. Great character.
-
The Boy and I have been watching Wandavision which so far has been building really well. Shame the episodes are shortish but each one is a really constructive build on how things are evolving.
Great show.

i love Amos! he's the best character on the show!!
Holden's droopy face fucks me off (dollar store John snow) but Naomi is fine as a motherfucker
I'll definitely see it through because i still like it.

thanks guys for the feedback, I..will try and get back into it
Just curiously, anyone else having trouble playing season 2/3 of loudermilk?
-
@nta he has a great scrap in the latest season too!
By far the coolest fluffybunny on that show!!
-
@bayimports season 2 works fine for me...

Yes!!! I figured it wasn't released yet in Oz? I can't get a single episode to play

Today has been a discovery of angering articles.

So continuing on with Briarpatch and really like it. Quirky and fun.
Also started on Those who kill and looks good, although there were many "huh?" moments for me, so hope it's just stuff they're gonna fill in later. Many unexplained angst and awkwardness from characters.

Watched 2 eps of Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel.
Netflix, 4 eps only.
Pretty intriguing so far, hotel is notorious for crimes taking place there, including one of the rapes and murders of The Nightstalker.
I pretty much knew the story, but thought they did bloody well to stretch it out to 4 eps and make it mostly interesting! Was good to see a lot of humble pie being eaten...
They stretched it out with
ANyone watched Clarice (after SOTL) or For All Mankind (alternative history if the Russians got to the moon frst)

Awesome show, probably top 3 of shows I watched last year.
-
@nepia I assume you also got a message from Apple TV+ that S2 of For All Mankind has started?
-
So we picked up on a kiwi series I hadn't heard of on Friday, The Bad Seed.
It's pretty good eh!
The story of two brothers from the same family who have raised themselves up from their desperate early childhood.
Stars Dean O'Shortman.
-
@bovidae I liked some of the detail in the intro to For All Mankind S2 E1. John Lennon survived the shooting but the Pope didn’t survive his, Prince Charles married Camilla instead of Diana. Polanski was arrested on the Canadian border. Reagan refused to bail out Chrysler. Also President Ted Kennedy couldn’t secure the nomination for his second term because of a sex scandal.

Yep got the text, although I'm midway through two other series I'm watching so wont be able to watch it straight away.
-
I'm re-watching Generation Kill, man some of the banter in it is outstanding!!
-
Just watching this, it's good fun.
-
Great starts to both
Bloodlands on BBC 1

Paramount is trying to make a Fatal Attraction tv series. Will every episode will open with Glenn Close rising from the bath?
-
watched the first couple of eps of For All Mankind, seems bloody good so far.
Was funny as I had just finished rewatching Generation KIll and Gene was the redneck in GK.
A few of the wives have been in other stuff too.
-
@taniwharugby Series 1 or 2?
-
@jc only found S1 last week.
-
@taniwharugby S2 is now out, releasing 1 episode per week. It's interesting how they insert real archive footage but change the context. You get Gary Hart talking about Reagan's sabre-rattling (real) but about a completely different incident (invented).
You also see the head of Nasa with an electric car recharging in his parking space after the opening exposition stating that Reagan refused to bail out Chrysler. It makes you wonder what might have been.

Yeah I'm really enjoying it so far. Really good production quality and interesting writing. 4K HDR looks good too.

Behind Her Eyes (Netflix)
Thriller about a couple who move to London and the husband, a Psychiatrist starts an affair with a chick who also befriends his mentally unstable wife.
Was a decent watch, only 6 eps so doesnt drag out too much.
Even though I picked some of the twists, I didnt get the last one until just before it was revealed.
-
@taniwharugby watching tonight!! Funfact for all you U2 fans (don't all rush at once) Bonos daughter is the "wife"
Heard good stuff about it. A bit sexy too?
-
@bones I need this in my life now!!
-
@r-l oh thats who she was, she was in the Luminaries too.
Yeah there is a bit of sexy time in it.

Yeah just finished that too. Bono’s daughter plays batshit pretty well, not surprising with those genes. The Roger Federer lookalike did his best too. Pretty dumb twist at the end didn’t you think @taniwharugby ?

Cobra Kai:
So, um, yeah, I know it's a favourite on the Fern, with many singing it's praises, after all that's the main reason I decided to watch it. But, it's only ok, and it's actually stupid in parts. Note, I'm only referring to S1 as that's as far as I've gone so far.
Maybe my expectations were just too high due to the hype around this show?

I thought it was good fun.
....and no one has a more punchable face than Daniel himself.

@nepia I enjoyed S2 and S3 more. But expect more of some of the criticisms you noted.
Is that a spoiler I should or shouldn't read?
TBH, I was hoping you'd say the opposite and that they got rid of the criticisms I noted.
-
@nepia I don't go into any details in the spoiler.

My comment was related to who is "good" and who is "bad". Let's just say that it's fluid.

I thought it was fun too, in a nostalgic cheesy way. It's been good to revisit a world that captured me as a kid. It is full of holes and it is not going to sweep the award season, but there are plenty of other shows around that take themselves more seriously if that is what you are after.

It DEFINITELY made me sympathise and relate to Johnny way more than Daniel that’s for sure.
-
Johnny Lawrence is my favourite character on TV atm. Love Cobra Kai, only wish the episodes were longer.

I think a lot of it is down to how it was spoken about on here. I was just expecting more.
