@crucial Sanjeev has been bloody good in this. Ms Cato No1 suggested this is because comedians often make good dramatic actors. “He was a comedian”? I replied. “Thought you had to be funny for that”.

Is that the Sanjev who guest hosts the Kermode and Mayo film show?

Sanjeev Bhaskar. Not sure about the film show thing as I haven’t watched it. I find Kermode faintly unwatchable and add Simon Salad-Cream on top and that is a real red flag for me.

That makes more sense. Mayo would be mariginally more acceptable if you can't see his smirking, punchable, warty face. A face made for radio.

Haha, I have no idea what they look like. I like Mayo as he takes the piss out of Kermode when Kermode gets too movie snobbish.

He's actually way less movie snobbish than what you'd think - Robbie Collins has that covered when he guests host, often with Sanjeev.

The Fassbender Le Mans series on youtube is great, especially the 2nd season. Get to ride a Porsche, get to ride Alicia Vikander, you gotta admire the guy.

Finally got around to Loudermilk S3.
Far less subtle than the first two series with some extra silliness but that silliness leads to some lol lines. The support characters get some beauties -

@crucial still love the episode in S1 I think where he goes to meet his daughter, who the group had only recently found out about, then talks about his other 9 kids, and he corrects them that one was still in the womb when he left, was gold!!

Have you got to S3 yet? When he hands out coffee mugs to the group that his son made.

Just finished watching John Adam’s...a HELL of a lot of talking and very little action...wouldn’t recommend unless you like Dramas I only stayed until the end as I’d already committed to it.

Still watching Shameless, S6, E9. tonight
Nice cameo from Oscar.
Yeah, I know I need to diversify

Worlds most dangerous borders.
Only 4 eps but thought was pretty good!
Reza Pakravan travels west to ea accross Africa in a zone called Sahel.
Was a good watch, dude was even imprisoned in Darfur on his journey.
Also watched Sky Rojas on Netflix.
Subtitled series set in a brothel where many of the girls are there against thier will.
3 kill thier boss and go on the run for freedom.
Bit if a crime-dark-comedy series, enjoyed it.

Janet King
Yeah have meandered through 3 seasons and it's a half decent watch, the worst bit about it is how seasoned law professionals and cops are ready to jump head first into the weakest of cases against baddies, but it keeps ya interested despite that.Onto the important stuff - there's a hint of tit in one episode. There's your easter egg, go find it.

US or UK? I've watched the UK series complete a couple of times but really struggled to get in to the US version
-
@bones A hint of tit. In one episode. Out of three seasons.
GFY.
That will no entice anyone.
Well maybe @m4l

I've started watching a show called City on a Hill
Idealistic DA and "corrupt" FBI agent trying to take down armoured car robbers in Boston in the 90s
Kevin Bacon's character is fucking great. Just an amoral asshole.

Anyone watching S6 of Line of Duty? It started off pretty meh and I nearly flagged it away but after sticking at it there's a lot going on now. Episode 4 was epic.

I thought the opposite. Thought it started OK but is getting sillier. The way that Hastings carries on in interviews is so hammy. Like everyone else that has followed the series I will keep watching though just to see the outcome.
I do like the clever thread of the character that is a 'kid' in the first series being the protagonist in S6. -

thats what i felt, watched the first season of the american and enjoyed, check the UK and the first episode was almost a shot for shot remake (i know the UK was first), so we stuck with the US one

I’ve watched a decent amount of the UK and all the US. They split after the first season. The US show is just a bit glossier, less gloomy, slightly more fun but they’re both good although I haven’t seen all of the UK due to pre streaming days.
There’s no comparison in the hot chicks battle though. US easy.
-
@nepia I had watched several series of the UK one when I was there, but not all.
I started the US one, watched a handful and bailed cos they were too similar.
I hear similar attitude for The Office?
Basically either or?
Watching From Russia to Iran: Crossing Wild Frontier.
Excellent series as the host Levison Wood zig zags on foot from the Russian side of the Cacusus mountains, through the various countries on his way to Iran.

I loved both versions of The Office. Such a different energy. UK version is gloriously depressing, while the US is a lot more goofy and fun.
-
@voodoo never watched either, I used to dislike Gervais, and I always found Carrell hit and miss too....I seen plenty of clips, gifs and quotes form them both that makes me think I would like them, so might get around to them one day.

perfect description, watched the UK one when it first came out and was an instant classic. We started the Us one at te start of the year have kept at it, fun but different

There's material in the UK "Office" scripts that could never have been put into th US version I reckon. That includes just about everything that comes out of the mouth of Gareth.

Love Gareth. I may have posted here already, but Detectorists was a great 3 series show
