Free standing punch bags
-
Anyone have any experience with these?

Am looking to get myself one, have found a couple of differing ones that vary in price from $200 (left) to $599 (right) which is quite significant, I know you get what you pay for, but not sure I can see the vast difference except the one on the right is NZ Made I think as opposed to the imported one on the left?

Both similar height and specs, obviously look a little different.

One on left is from Qualmax Direct Importers in Dunedin, anyone know of them or use them, they claim thier one is normal RP of $499.00. -
Snap! I just asked the wife to get me one for my birthday. There's another type I know of which is basically the shape of a human torso. Sorry I'm not adding any useful info you requested. But If you can find a local Dojo usually they'll have free standing bags.
I guess I just like having a face to punch...

No idea about the the price of this one specifically but I have seen similar for around $500. -
yeah I saw them too, think it was similarly priced to the one on the right, which I am guessing can be used in kick boxing as well, whereas the one on th eleft is most likely a boxing one only???

I guess so. I mean if your going to picture a "punching" bag and have a dude kicking the shit out of it then surely thats the bugger you'd want as your going to get a wider range of activity and surely i'll be durable. -
can you get to test them at a gym close by or something? do they topple over?
-
you fill the base with about 200lb of water...so shouldnt fall over
-
you'd probably (well, me anyway) break your wrists before knocking it over then eh.

I used to love boxing for fitness work pre season, got into it big time one season. HARD work! -
yeah is a good high intensity work out, also good to pound on after you watch your team play pathetically too (see Northland v Counties in 2009 NPC)
-
Hours of fun to be had watching your unco/never been in a fight/talks himself up/pissed mate make a complete dick of himself trying to impress the ladies at a bbq with his girl punches.

ah the hilarity.. -
I thought this was a thread about Foster...

I had one while back, don't use water it inevitably leaks. Use sand. Or gravel. Or even better, concrete mix, then wet the bastard.
