Let's try again...

<br />
Went out for dinner last night for wedding anniversary, and ate chinese. Skipped the rice generally and pulled off as much of the batter etc as I could from the prawns, chicken etc<br />
<br />
113.4kg today but my scales are giving me the shits, reading anywhere from 112.8 thru 114.7. Fkers might have to be replaced if they don't wise up
<br />
<br />
That's a pretty normal day to day fluctuations though, particularly for a big guy. You are basically measuring the difference in fluids in your body from day to day.<br />
<br />
You'll drive yourself mad if you keep doing that, just weight yourself once a week on the same day (or at least pay attention to only one weigh in a week) and make sure each one of those is less than the previous week. -
Didn't explain that very well; I meant the scales are giving me different readings on consecutive attempts within a few seconds!<br />
<br />
This morning i stepped on the scales and got 112.8 - given what I'd consumed over the weekend I found that a little odd. I stepped on again and got 114.3, then 113.7, 113.2, and various other readings. <br />
<br />
Tried moving to another area of the floor, different foot positions, etc but still could only get a rough average once I'd got three readings in the same general number.<br />
<br />
Its definitely driving me mad tho...<br />
<br />
This week I'll be throwing some cycling into the mix to work different areas of my legs. The distance to work is only 8km so I'll extend that with a loop ride on Wednesday. -
112.5 today - sits right on the current trendline which I suppose makes sense given recent fluctuations<br />
<br />
5.4 km walk in 42:44 @ 7.58km/h which is a new record by 36 seconds over that distance. Haven't done any strength work this week - concentrating on diet and aerobic exercise. Will probably ride the bike to work tomorrow via a longer route to stretch it out past the standard 8km. Will put MyTracks on the phone up against the bike computer to see how they compare. -
keep it up - you're 2XL rugby jersey that arrived today will end up too big...
<br />
<br />
Will have to put it in the dryer ...<br />
<br />
112.4kg this morning. Need to think about a re-jig of the diet as I feel I'm starting to plateau a little -
111.5kg this morning. Mostly fluid I guess but I'll take it <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /><br />
<br />
Didn't bother extending my bike ride yesterday as my butt was sore enough - must be missing some arse padding since the weight loss.started <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /><br />
<br />
Still the bike ride is a good leg workout and is higher on the aerobic scale than the walking. Seeing the chiro next week about my inflamed disc so hopefully that will come good and I can start running again.<br />
<br />
I reckon I can set new records for my 5km run now I've shaved off a few kg. Feeling good! -
Considering I started losing weight before I rejoined the Fern, I'm already there! Belts all down to the last notch. Pants falling off if I don't have a belt. Shirts of all kinds getting decidedly roomy.<br />
<br />
1.5kg from the goal now, but only 2 weeks to get there... picked up some more protein powder so that will be put to good use. Might do strength tonight after the rugby. -
111.0kg even this morning. Had a bit of a protein day yesterday, and instead of ordering pizza last night and restricting myself to two slices, I picked up T-bones, bbq'd those suckers and threw down some salad chaser (with Fetta). Awesome. And in other news: DDO today! I am about to hit a couple of meat pies after spending most of the morning digging up various bits of the yard with the landscaper dude. New garden shed and front yard turf (Sir Walter Buffalo) coming my way. I'm knackered, but loving it!
-
Lads, I reckon I'm sailing close to the rocks as far as diet goes. Last week Friday and today I've been having a bit of weirdness with my vision and the odd headspin. <br />
<br />
Usually those days I've had a lot of protein and tried to keep the overall intake down, but I'm not starving myself.<br />
<br />
Not enough carbs? Or is my metabolism sharpening up a bit and therefore need more food? -
got to have the carbs - your brain needs them - it's the only 'food' that it'll use!<br />
<br />
Carbs - oats for breakfast, kumara, rice or something for lunch, dinner, not really needed. And that would be at least a cup of oats (whole grain rolled), and at least a cup of uncooked rice for lunch, or 200-300g kumara (or pumpkin). Got to feed the machine NTA!<br />
<br />
get to a nutritionist - have your weekly schedule ready so they can then work out what your intake of carbs / proteins / fats need to be etc. -
Not avoiding carbs as such, just think I've been a bit careless on those days with energy input.<br />
<br />
I am avoiding "white" carbs though like spuds and white rice (and sugar, obviously) because I've seen too much evidence of their detrimental properties in litetature and my own diet. <br />
<br />
I have started getting into the oats though. At work I grab one of those microwave bowls (Uncle Toby's Cinnamon and Brown Sugar) and churn some organic yoghurt through it. Nice. -
Let me work my way into the horse food Bartman <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> One step at a time.<br />
<br />
What I have been using for breakfast over the past few weeks is this:<br />

<br />
It tastes bloody good and has a fairly impressive nutritional readout. They do other cereals too. -
Tastes good probably because each serving includes half your daily recommended sugar intake.<br />

Bloody hell, how ya goin there Bart jr ? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> not another one !!! -
I miss my horse food - ten egg white omelet at the moment for breakfast, with 200g kumara and veg etc in omelet just is not the same as the cup of oats, scopp of chocolate protein powder and 3 whipped egg whites... making my mouth water just thinking of it!

MMM, 17% sugar! Thats nearly half again more than the bottle of Mountain Dew in my fridge. When i started dieting the 2 things that went straight away were fizzy drinks and cereal. Will drink fizzies sometimes, cereal never. Horrible stuff.
