Anyone wanting to follow Steven Adams and OKC on TV will have to purchase NBA League Pass. In a league where NBA super stars equal commercial income the loss of Russ and PG has meant OKC have plummeted from 27 national TV games (ABC, ESPN, TNT) in 2018-19 to just 3 for the upcoming season. The Thunder also won't feature on the the NBA's marquee Christmas Day slate for the first time since 2009.

Brooklyn will have 12 games on TV.

There is still roughly a third of the league (10 teams) with even fewer national TV games than OKC for this upcoming season:

Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, Minnesota, Orlando, Phoenix, Sacramento, Washington.

@KiwiMurph And look at the records of those teams last season. OKC is now lumped in with the also-rans and other small market teams.

Obviously the local TV stations will broadcast many of their games but it's different for the international viewer.

Dwight Howard will join the Lakers to replace Boogie who was lost to another long term injury. After the last tenure Dwight must have humbled himself big time to get back in.

    Aug 23, 2019  /  01:50

Sources: Howard to join Lakers with stern caveat

Sources: Howard to join Lakers with stern caveat

Dwight Howard will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers after he and his representatives reached an agreement on a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, league sources told ESPN.

Looks like he's done just that, and the contract is non-guaranteed. If he missteps he's gone

Whatever your opinion of Adams' stance on the TBs, the guy is doing his bit for the yoof. 3 camps for over 1000 kids free of charge, and he appears in person

New Season tipped off yday with the PG-less Clippers smoking Lebron's Lakers.

Kawhi too efficient with 30pts on only 19 shots (Lebron 19pts same no. shots) and the LAC bench too strong.

Also, Zion is out for 6-8 weeks for knee surgery for being too fat AND too athletic simultaneously.

I recorded this game but Foxtel failed because some tit in my house turn the power off. Gutted.

Will take some time for the Lakers to gel, it's a very weird team.

Also, I suffered the same afflictions as Zion in my career

    Without the athleticism of course.

Season properly underway today with 11 games.

It's a fucking grind, but should be an interesting season, as we really don't know who is going to win. Both conferences look wide open.

10 or 11 teams in the West legit chance to make the playoffs and all could win the Conference. And they'd all finish top 3 in the East.

Exciting opening night with the all-LA affair. Lou Williams and Harrell doing their thing and adding Leonard. No PG, but still get the win.

I think it showed that they missed Rondo’s game management. Rondo will be on restricted minutes when he comes back too.

@ACT-Crusader it's also a bit of a worry when you're counting on Rondo! It's been a while since he was any good and he still can't shoot.

    It's such a weird team.

Can still run a decent two man game and find shooters. Has a good combo with AD also.

OKC gets their first win of the season thrashing the Warriors. Adams hasn't reached double figures in their 3 games so far.

I was only referring to scoring. Adams has got 3, 7 and 8 pts in OKC's 3 games so far.

Adams should be able to average 15-18 pts with no PG and Russ. He shot poorly in games 1 and 2 but was 50% in this win.

Suns are 2-1 to start the season, including a great win over Kawhai and the Clippers, without Ayton and Rubio. Have read some stuff since about Booker having turned a corner, so maybe just maybe we'll challenge for a play offs spot this season.

Adams with another low scoring game.

We'll see how the season plays out, but I'm starting to think that Adams needed Russ far more than people realize. Russ set him up for a lot of easy buckets.

Russ was playing for the opposition. 🙂

@canefan He's averaging two less shot attempts per game than last season, but the bigger problem is he's shooting 31% from the field.

I've been impressed by this rookie class so far and Zion hasn't even played yet.

The scoreline for the Rockets v Wizards is insane. 159 - 158 to the Rockets and there wasn't any overtime. That's the sort of scoreline you'd expect in an allstar game or a triple/quadruple overtime game.

Warriors are getting touched up by the Suns at the moment. To make matters worse, Curry left the game with a broken hand. They might miss the playoffs if Curry misses too much time.

The Suns' supporting cast this season is contributing well, and Booker does seem to have matured into a genuine franchise player. Really impressed with Aaron Baynes this season; he and Ayton could be an impressive centre rotation.

Dallas must be stoked that the KP trade looks to have cemented their core for the next decade. Thanks NY!
